While they were here he noticed the chimney was not very secure. They will finish painting my house as soon as it is warm enough to paint. Overall I am very pleased with their work."

We initially contacted just the top two Foundation Repair Experts listed on Angie's List because we can't afford to have our home repaired by anyone who lacks the proper credentials, staff, tools, training, techniques, supplies, 25 year transferrable warranty, and the hands on experience to deliver all services as promised. We are extremely pleased with the final results to take back our homes basement from poor workmanship done by the original builder and owner of our home back in 1979 We purchased the home in 2001 and unknown to us the foundation had been placed on top of clay based sub-soil which was an acceptable building practice back in 1979. Today's building codes prohibit this careless and costly practice of home site preparation for the homeowner. While it’s possible to remove a fence post with a truck and requires little physical effort, we don’t recommend this method. You can potentially hurt others or yourself or damage your property or vehicle attempting to take a fence post out with a truck. Instead, use a farm jack or a pole puller to remove the post.

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.

Concrete hardens quickly. If you have extra at the end of your project, you can divide it into several small chunks that will be easier to manage for disposal. Concrete isn't hazardous waste, so you can dispose of it in a dumpster. However, you can check with your municipality to see if it offers recycling services for solid concrete.

Most jobs take 4-12 hours, but larger projects may require multiple days.

To estimate concrete removal costs, determine the area of the concrete by multiplying the width and length. The result will give you the square footage. Then, multiply the square footage by the cost of concrete removal, which is $2 to $6 per square foot for concrete up to 6 inches thick. For thicker concrete, double the square footage costs to get your estimate. 

Disposal costs are often factored into the cost per square foot, but check your contract. If concrete disposal is not included, you’ll pay $50 to $100 per ton.
