"He was very thorough and answered my questions about the process of how he was cleaning the drain plumbing. He determined the plug was a minor one and cleared it out quickly. We thought he was very thorough and good at performing the job. "

"In order to be fair, I would have to break my review down between sales and installation. The installation portion was phenominal! Punctual, kind, professional and we are more than pleased with the service we received. However, we nearly declined their estimate because of my experience with the salesman. He completely missed our first appointment after I had gone into work late in order to meet him. After waiting fifteen minutes, I called him and he told me he couldn't read his own handwriting, was still at the office and asked if he could reschedule, which meant I had to miss more work. The second time we had an appointment he was a few minutes late, but took a fifteen minute personal phone call in the middle of our appointment. I excused myself so that he could have some privacy and thought the entire situation was extremely unprofessional. We had previously used Foster's for service and were always pleased so we ended up going with them purely on our previous experiences with their service."

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

"Installation progressed on time. Two issues I was disappointed with was that I had cement board for below the tile but he installed plywood under the shower instead of using cement board throughout. Also he moved the heater/air conditioning vent down in a very sloppy manner so the cover did not fit well. "
"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
"We had to call in a plumber for an emergency repair, this other plumber also quoted pipe replacement, but would have required an additional contractor for the finish work. I searched Angies list and found some candidates for the total job including Madisons Plumbing(Plumber and Carpenter in One). Some further research on individual websites indicated that Patrick Madison would be a good fit. At first he didn't want to quote because he didn't realize the extent of the remodel type of work and another contractor had already been involved for the emergency repair. I convinced him that this job was right up his alley. He set a date one or two days out and visited the site for quote. He replied the next day with an estimate of 17 man days and an attractive rate base on the extent of the work. I decided that he was the man for the job but he would need to add a man to expedite the completion of the job, as we would need to get our parents out of the house for the duration of the work. Start and completion dates were set, he and his assistant arrived on time and made great progress every day. I selected and supplied tiles and grout. (Just in time because the job progress was so fast) Adders were: 1)Grab Bar in the shower. 2)Replacement Toilet. 3)Island style venting for the kitchen sink. 4)Power vent water heater, pvc vent pipe, electrical outlet for water heater. He finished half a day early and essentially the only added cost was the purchase price of the water heater. There was enough in the original material estimate to cover the toilet and misc. hardware. During the job the worksite was cleaned and maintained presentable. Plastic sheeting was used to control dust. Tarps were used to protect floors. Cleanup after the job was very good. Yes there was a very light dusting from the drywall work in much of the house and some light debris was overlooked in one room. Overall much better than I would have expected. I told him about some of the things that I was doing after the job and he offered to do it for me, I declined and he offered suggestions and resource info. I WILL call him again with more work in the future!!!!
Yes, it is often possible to replace an undermount sink without removing the countertop, but success can depend on the countertop material. For materials like granite, the process is relatively straightforward. However, laminate or uniquely shaped countertops might need to be removed or modified.
The process typically involves shutting off the water supply, disconnecting the drain and plumbing pipes, cutting through the old silicone seal, and carefully lowering the sink from below. This requires a good understanding of plumbing and the right tools. If you are not confident in performing the replacement yourself, it is recommended to hire a countertop specialist or a plumber to handle the task.
There are several types of sink drain stoppers, including pull-out, twist-and-pull, and pop-up. Pull-out sink stoppers can be removed by pulling on the stopper until it comes out of the drain. A twist-and-pull design requires lifting then turning the stopper to lock it in an open position and the opposite action (turning, then pressing down) to close it. A pop-up sink stopper works by pushing down the drain cover to open or close the passageway.
Common problems include leaks, clogs, and low water pressure. Regular maintenance prevents major disruptions.
You’ll only need to replace your sink’s pipes when you start to notice signs of wear like corrosion or leaking. Most pipes last somewhere between 20 and 100 years, depending on the material. Copper and cast iron can last up to 100 years. Galvanized steel and brass generally have a 50-year lifespan. PVC pipes last 25 to 40 years.
The best option is to alter the plumbing. Moving and centering the drain pipe behind the sink usually does the trick and creates the sleek, minimalist look that pedestal sinks offer. If you don’t want to do any plumbing work, there are a few decorating hacks:
Painting the pipes
Placing shelves, plants, or baskets in front of the pipes
Adding a sink skirt
