"I am very happy with the look of the finished project. When I bought this home, I thought the tub was simply dirty when in reality the finish was completely gone and so was stained. I also didn't like the color of the tiles surrounding the tub. After we did a lot of the prep work, i.e removing the faucets, caulking and glass enclosure, Bob came in and did his thing. He needed to come back to address a few issues, i.e. paint runs, but did so and they look much better. One thing I would recommend to anyone thinking about resurfacing - the paint smell is really terrible! I didn't think I would be able to sleep in my house that night (it was November mind you and cold!) If you have a trip planned or somewhere else to stay for a day or two, it's something to consider. I'll be curious to see how this holds up over time, but Bob does warrant his work for 5 years as long as something the owner does hasn't caused the surface to fail."

"Ecolecuá offers a unique collaborative approach with her clients. On our project, she struck the perfect balance; she listened to our ideas and feedback but very much maintained her role as the creative expert, making us feel comfortable the entire time. I would absolutely recommend Ecolecuá with no hesitation. With all she has done, she is going to find the right approach for just about any client. Aileen Dominguez Dentist, Boston, Massachusetts"

Painting questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible but presents risks of uneven surfaces or improper adhesion; professionals offer expertise to ensure a lasting finish.

If your cedar fence is new, don’t delay. Unlike treated pine, you don’t need to wait months for the wood to dry out for it to accept stain. With cedar, the sooner, the better. Seal cedar within two weeks of installation to prevent the sun from fading its red color.

The longevity of paint on wood depends on factors like the quality of the paint, surface preparation, exposure to elements, and maintenance. Exterior paint on wood surfaces can last 5 to 15 years or more with proper care and maintenance. Interior paint tends to have a longer life span, often 10 years or more. Regular cleaning, touch-ups, and addressing any issues like peeling or cracking can extend the life of the paint.

Manufacturers use a different process and formula for exterior paint versus interior. The exterior formula has to withstand elements like temperature, UV lighting, moisture, wind, and debris. Interior paint doesn’t need to be as tough, only exposed to dust, scratches, dents, scuff marks, and the like.

Yes, many repair services include repainting to match the color of the existing siding or walls. Most professionals offer this service to ensure the repaired area blends in seamlessly.
