"JD was very efficient in communication and made time for me the very next day. He thoroughly inspected the chair and had supplies with him to make a new support for the spring while creatively repairing my chair in less then an hour with the new support stronger then the manufactured one on the other side. He was reasonably priced, cleaned up after himself, was very honest and assured me if there was any issues with the chair to let him know and he would be back free of charge to reassess and fix. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!"

"I hired Austin to remove my old deck, fill a small pond, and build a new larger deck on my home. The project ended up being a bit bigger than they originally estimated, but they followed through completely. The deck is fantastic. He was always thinking about usability for the deck after he was done, and made several wonderful suggestions of ways they could do things differently along the way. In the end we got to factory what we hoped, and the only additional cost over the original estimate was for wood to surround the entire deck to keep animals out, something we did not plan for from the start in any way. The price was very reasonable, and the deck is rock solid."

"Preston of G-1 Plumbing performed the services and addressed the toilet & drain problem. He was unable to stop leak(made it worse) & submitted his recs to Choice Home for review. I was unable to understand Choice Home's response regarding the faucet leak. Their review stated faucet needed to be replaced BUT it was under "builder's warranty." I built this home in 2005. There is no "builder's warranty" now. I cancelled the proposed work order & paid out-of-pocket. A Friend, who was familiar with my builder and knows faucet components, came to my home, adjusted/cleaned the faucet cartridge and stopped the leak. The CHW tech, Preston, is conscientiuos, however, IMHO lacked the knowledge & experience to stop my leak. Home Warranty Companies, at least in my area, hire owner/operators who need the work to build their business and are NOT the most experienced/knowledgeable & are willing to work for less money. In my experience, Home Warranty Companies want the CHEAPEST resolution, not the BEST. I would recommend G-1 Plumbing for most plumbing issues."

"It was astounding what he did. He was so professional. We were not prepared for the move at all. When we sold our building, we didn't expect an "instant" closing. We had to move quickly. Jesus walked in on a Saturday with his crew of 3 men and started organizing. Within one week he had cleared out 5500 square feet that was packed to the 10 foot ceilings with 25 years worth of fragile electronics equipment.  Jesus didn't just move it, he put everything exactly where it belonged in the new building. It was unbelievable. Everything was neat in our new location. Jesus is a jack of all trades, he does lawn work, mowing, landscaping work and plowing in the winter. I intend to use him this summer. I was stunned by how good his price was."

"Tj and Riley did an amazing job! They were on time, courteous, and careful with our belongings. I ended up with a pod that was perfectly loaded with additional room to spare for the many loose ended items that I had to tie up to get out of my house. They were really focused on doing a great job while loving what they do. This is rare to find these days. We appreciated there professionalism and hard work! They were super fast and helpful movers. I 100% would recommend this business and crew for all your moving needs. I will be hiring them on my next move."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

The most significant expense when building a barndominium is constructing the metal shell, which includes the roof, doors, and windows. Additional exterior components impacting the overall cost include metal siding and the concrete foundation.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.

It is recommended that you check with your local building official on barn building requirements and rules, since size restrictions vary greatly from region to region based on what your property is zoned for. Some cities limit barn construction depending on if your property is residential or commercial. The three main factors your building commission will evaluate are:

  • Height and lot coverage: How tall your barn is and how much of your total property it occupies

  • Setback: Distance between barn and property line

  • Easement: Legal right for another owner to access another’s property

The construction stage is almost always the longest part of building a house. Within this stage, framing often takes the most time, lasting anywhere from one week to a couple of months, depending on the home's size, the crew, and the time of year. Other parts of the construction phase include pouring the foundation and installing doors, windows, a roof, siding, drywall, and flooring. The planning and design phase can also be very time-consuming, sometimes taking months or even years, especially for a custom home. The final finishing process, which includes painting and installing trim, is typically shorter than the construction or planning stages.

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.
