Renew Resurfacing is a small family owned business operated by Jim and Candy Work right here in the Omaha metro area. We've been married for 28 years. We've also been blessed with six boys... yes, I said six boys and one granddaughter!(Finally) So, we appreciate good value and savings whenever possible. I have 25 years of home renovation experience and at the beginning of 2016 Candy and I started Renew Resurfacing. Our primary objective is to provide the highest quality products and services to homeowners in the Omaha metro area without breaking the bank or weeks of kitchen or bathroom downtime. The success of Renew Resurfacing is dependent on the satisfaction of our customers, their referrals and repeat business. Without you, Renew Resurfacing has no future.

"They were great to work with and very professional. They were careful to move and/or cover anything that might be in the spray area, and they cleaned up well after themselves when they were done. My countertops look great, and it was so much cheaper than replacing them!"

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Two alternatives to reglazing are installing a bathtub inlay or a bathtub liner. An inlay is a low-priced mat that adheres to the bottom of a bathtub or shower. It’s useful for sealing minor leaks and concealing damage on the bottom of a tub. On the other hand, a bathtub liner is essentially a protective casing that goes over the entire tub. They are usually custom-fit and cost more than reglazing yet don’t last as long.

The difference between resurfacing and refinishing is that refinishing only works on solid surfaces that are in good condition, whereas resurfacing will restore a cracked or worn surface to its original, blemish-free state. Refinishing will leave you with a smooth and glossy surface you can’t get from resurfacing alone. If that’s the look you’re going for, contact a local concrete finishing contractor to achieve it.

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.

You can use other ways to seal the space where your tub and the bathroom tile meet. Using sealant tape, epoxy sealer, and spray foam can be just as effective as caulking your bathtub. When using alternatives to caulk, the one that is best for you depends on your preferences.

Sealant tape takes less time and effort to use, which is why some homeowners prefer it. Meanwhile, epoxy sealer creates a smooth and glossy finish that can complement your bathroom. Lastly, spray foam is waterproof and can act as insulation for your tub.

If you don’t caulk your bathtub, then there won’t be a watertight seal between your bathtub and the wall tile surrounding it. As a result, water can seep into the wall and the floor and cause the perfect breeding grounds for mold and mildew. Not only does this require costly repairs, but mold can be harmful to those breathing it.
