Mold loves a moist environment, so the best way to keep it from returning is to keep your machine as dry as possible. Take laundry out of the machine as soon as you can after a cycle finishes. It survives by digesting decaying organic materials, which makes it very helpful for removing dead plant matter around the world. However, if it starts eating away at your drywall, window frames, and flooring, it can harm your home and your health.

Is mold in an air conditioner dangerous? Running an air conditioner with mold isn’t safe because it can spread harmful mold spores throughout your home. These spores may cause respiratory problems, allergies, or aggravate asthma in household members and guests. If you suspect there is mold hiding in your air conditioner, it’s best to stop using the HVAC system until the mold is cleaned to avoid health risks and further contamination.

Although fiberglass dust is generally not considered toxic, inhaling excessive amounts of it can lead to health risks. Irritation to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin are common effects of fiberglass particle inhalation. While short-term exposure to the dust may only cause temporary discomfort, long-term or chronic exposure can lead to more severe respiratory problems.

Proper safety measures, such as wearing appropriate protective equipment, including masks and goggles, should be observed when handling or working with fiberglass materials to minimize health risks.
