"These 2 came in and did the work I hired them for and put everything back in its place. They were friendly and provided good customer service. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for carpet cleaning or other projects!"

"It wasn't bad. We had some stained carpeted ares which they over plastered  and now they are even worse. But they were pleasant and got the job done. They came within the month of purchase. They counted a hallway as a room and they counted my large bedroom as 2 rooms. So I can't say they did enough work.  I can't say I was thrilled by it and I didn't check with other people but it was just a surprise."

"They are a nice provider. I talked to them on the phone for about 30 minutes and they sent some samples. We were able to get a discount on designer purchases but not useful on designing the space. Once we told them what we wanted, they were able to help purchase from the warehouse and save about $1,500. I think they became too busy with this big deal. You buy a ticket per room and we still actually have a couple left with this provider. After redesigning one room, we kind of ran out of steam and have not designed the other rooms. Overall this is a good service and it's a good concept. Whomever I spoke with, she was really nice. I would recommend this provider. This kind of service seems to be for people with time and knows exactly what they want. They are super helpful with the designer discount from the warehouse. They don't actual design your room which is slight flaw."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Upholstering projects in Ames can be complicated by older homes with tight doorways, multi-level layouts, or steep stairs. Humidity in IA may affect fabric selection and drying times. Properties near the university or rural areas often face limited parking or gravel driveways, impacting furniture transport. High pet ownership and frequent moves in student housing also introduce unique challenges for custom upholstery and reupholstery work.

Helpful?

Upholstering services in Ames often recommend versatile, durable fabrics that complement evolving decor and withstand IA’s climate. Many providers offer modular upholstery options, like reupholstering sectionals or using removable covers, to simplify future updates. Some shops retain extra material for repairs or additions. Planning with adaptability in mind ensures your furniture can be refreshed or expanded as your household or space changes.

Helpful?

Before requesting upholstering services in Ames, gather detailed measurements of your furniture, note the current upholstery material, and assess the frame’s condition. Photograph each piece from several angles, and record the furniture’s age and maker if available. Specify your preferred fabric types, color palette, and any allergy or pet considerations. Highlight any access issues, such as narrow hallways or staircases, unique to your Ames home.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Ames are typically involved in choosing upholstery fabrics, approving design elements such as tufting or trim, and deciding on repairs to frames or springs. You’ll also select cushion firmness and hardware finishes, and coordinate convenient pickup or delivery times, especially considering IA’s seasonal weather. Regular check-ins during the process help ensure the finished piece matches your vision and fits your Ames home.

Helpful?

Signs it’s time to schedule upholstering in Ames include sagging cushions, worn or faded fabric, stubborn stains, or exposed frames. Consider IA’s seasonal humidity—late fall through early spring is ideal for reupholstery due to drier conditions. If you have pets or allergies, look for extra wear or allergen buildup. Plan ahead for holidays or events, as local upholsterers often book up quickly.
