"I recently had a challenging experience finding a landscaping company to handle my fall cleanup and tree and bush trimming needs around my property. Several companies I contacted for estimates failed to follow up. Fortunately, I came across a recommendation for Junk B Squared Away on Angi, and I couldn't be happier with their services. Right from the start, they stood out as a responsive and reliable choice. They promptly visited my property to provide an estimate and even sent me pictures to confirm the work required. What truly impressed me was the exceptional quality of their work. Despite specializing in junk removal, their tree and bush trimming was detailed and precise. They were punctual, respectful of my property, and friendly, even taking the time to inquire about my two dogs. Thanks to their efforts, my property looks as beautiful as the day I bought my home. The pricing was also more than reasonable, and the two individuals who came to work were some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of dealing with. I'm looking forward to reaching out to Junk B Squared Away again in the winter for some actual junk removal from my garage and my broken trampoline. It's a relief to have a go-to contractor for these types of tasks! Highly recommended."

"CPW and More LLC did a great job on cleaning my house, deck, and driveway. They arrived on time. They were very professional and explained in detail what they were going to be doing. They also took extra time in protecting my home. Their pricing was very reasonable for all the hard work they did. I will be calling back CPW and More for more cleaning in the future."

"Eric called back the same day I requested estimate. He stopped by the next day and within 10 minutes provided reasonable written quote. Three days later, a crew of 4 arrived at 1pm and removed 5 - 27 year old ash trees, plus stumps by 5pm. All brush was hauled away by the next morning. They did an excellent job cleaning up all twigs with very little disturbance to the yard. We were so impressed. We highly recommend ArborPro tree service."

"Tried Angies service by chance. Eric from Freedom Tree Care was one of the few that responded. Im so glad he did! He came out that day and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. He came back 2 days later at the time we agreed on and did an amazing job trimming up my trees to get them off the roof. Very professional, very nice, and explained exactly what he thought needed done and cleaned up everything when he was done. Hes an Arborist so he can look at the tree and see what it needs. I will definately keep his card ( which is made out of wood) and refer him to anyone i know. Thanks Angie list!! Thanks Eric!"

FAQs for brush chipping projects in Ames, IA

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
