"We needed some drywall work done and H Drywall was one of three companies I contacted for estimates. They were the middle bidder, but I was so impressed with Harry’s (the”H” in H Drywall) on-site visit and his comprehensive proposal that I decided to go with them. I was not disappointed because Harry keeps on top of things and is quick to reply to messages. A bonus was their online payment system which is really convenient and provided instant confirmation of a payment. What truly makes this company worthy of a 5-star rating though are its employees. John, the foreman, is easy to talk to and has so much experience in construction that he solved any problems or challenges that occurred. He always kept us informed of their progress and made sure we were happy with the work they were doing. The rest of the crew Stuart, Derek, Chris, and Evan were all friendly, courteous (always aware that we still lived in the home), and did excellent work. Drywall replacement is messy, but these guys covered everything including the floors and they vacumed daily. The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs. 

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Though possible, installing a ceiling fan yourself requires electrical knowledge and confidence working with home wiring. Following the manufacturer's instructions carefully and observing safety precautions are crucial components of a DIY installation.

Manufacturers of ceiling fan-rated boxes must indicate on the box that the unit is for that purpose. To check your model, remove the light fixture and look inside the box for wording that says it’s rated for fan use. If you don’t see words saying so, it likely needs to be replaced with an appropriate one that is rated for use with a ceiling fan.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.
