There are several ways to dry out flea eggs. There’s no denying the striking resemblance, but squash bugs are different from the brown marmorated stink bug. While both are shield-shaped and emit a foul odor when crushed, they belong to different insect families and target different plants. Squash bugs primarily attack squash, pumpkins, and other cucurbits, while stink bugs have a much broader range of host plants, including fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants.   • Dark spots of excrement that look like dots from a fine-tipped permanent marker

  • Tiny eggshells and yellowish shed skins

It is a myth that smashing a stink bug attracts more stink bugs. According to the National Pesticide Information Center, killing a stink bug will not attract more of them. They are able to secrete a pheromone that attracts other bugs, but they will only release their alarm pheromone when they’re squished—which won’t attract more bugs.

Also, moles are usually smaller, with velvety fur, tiny eyes, and shovel-like hands for digging. Gophers are larger rodents with prominent front teeth and external cheek pouches for carrying food.
