You can also protect yourself by getting written approval or a modified warranty that specifically allows the solar installation type you’re planning. Then, hire a professional solar installer that follows roofing manufacturer instructions and protects the roof during installation.

If your roof has a pitch of more than 40 degrees, it may not be a good candidate for solar panels.
