Three things to know about Rising Sun Solar on Maui: 1. The SolarEdge equipment they install seems to fail more often than that of other brands. It had to be replaced twice the first month of operation and has now been dead for four days (3 1/2 years after the first problems were addressed). The previous installation from Haleakala Solar did not have any issues at all during the five years previous to that. 2. Rising Sun does not monitor your equipment. You are responsible for checking on it continuously and noticing that there is no output from the system. 3. If you do notice that your system is completely down (not producing electricity at all), they do not treat it a a priority to get it working again, even if you are within warranty. In our case they said they would check it out in 3 1/2 weeks because "We have a busy schedule over the next few weeks.". I could not get an answer from their service department on if that meant that they have complete system outages to address for every day of the coming weeks or if they do not consider a complete system outage as an emergency which should go ahead of minor scheduled maintenance.

Excellent meeting with Alex Vlahos. Decided to have Rising Sun install our solar system. Company installers were efficient and did a good job on installation.
