You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

To reglue the countertop, you’ll need to use contact cement intended for laminate countertops and apply a thin layer below the peeled area. Lay a heavy object, like a book, over the area while the contact cement dries to prevent it from re-lifting.

To make laminate countertops look new again, you can use a laminate refinishing kit to fill in nicks and scratches and polish them to restore their original look.
