Mikey, the tile setter, did an excellent job of taking the tile lay pattern that we preferred and making it work perfectly for the space. He communicated a sense of pride in his work that gave us confidence and which showed in the execution of his meticulous tile setting work. Steve advised us about grout color for our backsplash and I'm glad he did because it turned out really nice. Recommend highly."

There are numerous pros and cons of laminate countertops, but peeling laminate is a relatively simple repair. To reglue the countertop, you’ll need to use contact cement intended for laminate countertops and apply a thin layer below the peeled area. Lay a heavy object, like a book, over the area while the contact cement dries to prevent it from re-lifting.

The question of which material is better comes down to personal preference. Formica is a popular brand of laminate countertops known for its durability and affordability. Due to its brand recognition, Formica is slightly more expensive than generic laminate countertops, but with that brand name comes a certain standard of quality.

You can make laminate counters look like marble by following the steps above. However, the condition of the laminate may limit the final results. For example, if the laminate is splitting at the corners or has sharp edges, the epoxy may not work or mimic natural marble as well.

Original Gorilla Glue is not a good choice for laminate countertops. It is not a contact cement, which is the best choice for this material, and it does not explicitly state that it should be used on laminate. Perhaps the best reason to avoid using Gorilla Glue on laminate is that it expands three times its original size, which could lead to your laminate being pushed away from the countertops.

If you find that the laminate boards are chipping as you cut, you can try flipping the board upside down and cutting the backside first. You can also make a small cut to the top of the board before flipping it and cutting it from the backside. If these strategies do not work, you can place painter’s tape along the edge of the cut to prevent chipping. It is also possible that the saw blade is dull and needs to be replaced.
