Before gluing, sand the area you plan to glue to remove any large debris and to rough it up for better adhesion.

If your countertop is a landscape of nicks, scratches, gouges, and discoloration, you may wonder if you can repair them. Often, you can fill in any nicks or gouges using laminate refinishing kits or epoxy fillers. You can remove some stains and discoloration by gently scrubbing them with a paste made from baking soda and water and a toothbrush.

First, use the right blade, which we’ve already discussed. However, there are other ways to prevent chipping, such as using painter’s tape to mark the edges. It creates a clear, easy-to-see line. Cutting from the top down can also prevent chipping when using a blade with horizontal teeth.
