"Cory and Colton arrived on the time schedule, did a survey on the apartment and quickly started moving the furniture. They were very professional and did the best they could to finish as early as possible."

"Received estimate for 2 movers and box truck for under $500. Actually, there were three guys, but I wasn't charged more. Move was completed in 2.5 hours, one-half hour ahead of time. I had done most of the packing myself and afterwards, couldn't find a few, small things. I might have misplaced them or they might have fallen somewhere. I had used this company before and they were willing to take some items to Goodwill or needy people, and I received a receipt from Goodwill."

"They did a great job with our move and accommodating some last minute requests we had. They were responsive and offered to assemble our furniture that we had from storage with no issues or questions asked. Very professional and friendly service. Quote was much more reasonable for a local move, compared to others. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again the next time I move."

"I found JNR Global Logistics after another mover back out at the last minute. JNR is awesome! FromGlobal Logistics beginning to end, JNR had everything covered. They took care of everything. They came with the right size trucks, equipment needed for the move, and manpower. The communication throughout the move was outstanding. I would highly recommend JNR's services."

Moving questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to move into an apartment depends on many factors, including the amount of belongings you’re bringing with you, how accessible the apartment is (do you have an elevator, or will you be walking up and down several flights of stairs with boxes?), and whether or not you’re hiring a moving company. Having said that, for a local one-bedroom apartment, it usually takes a moving company between two and five hours to move you in.

Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. Most of these lines were run to this point specifically to service the furnace, so they’ll need to be closed up and new ones established.  A furnace is almost always connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well.

Moving a furnace a few feet is probably no big deal. Moving it into a different part of the house is a different story.

Products that are hazardous, such as aerosol sprays, top the list of what to leave behind during a move. Avoid packing perishables, garden and garage chemicals, pool supplies, compressed gases, and combustible items. If you are trying to move by yourself, you may want to downsize so you have fewer belongings to pack and move (and then unpack).

The cost of a long-distance move depends on several factors, including whether you hire movers, use a moving truck, and the size of your move. For a 1,000-mile move, you’ll need to hire interstate movers and ask them for an estimate based on the details of your move. Keep in mind that a 1,000-mile move will likely cost $10,000 or more.

Not all furniture needs to be disassembled. Smaller items or pieces that are easily transportable might not require disassembly. You only need to worry about assembling large pieces, like a sofa, in order to fit through existing door frames and hallways. Before you disassemble anything, take measurements of your furniture and talk to your moving company about what should be taken apart prior to moving.
