"We needed assistance with tiling for backsplash in Kitchen. This project while small had many tricky cuts. Antionette and Richard were not only perfectionists with tiling but they also were helpful in suggestion for other house projects in progress and supportive with their equipment. We could not be more pleased with their work and their work product! Our kitchen looks great thanks to Barefoot!! Amazing!! Highly recommend Barefoot Painting and Renovations!"

"We hired Bob to completely remodel our master bathroom- including removing walls and repositioning doorways. He installed a custom tile shower, new vanity, lights, toilet, and flooring. We are so pleased with the way everything turned out! Bob was very responsive to our phone calls and texts. He made sure each step of the project was to our satisfaction before continuing, and the price was very reasonable. He was great at rolling with the surprises of previous homeowner plumbing and electrical work. Would definitely recommend for any project!!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

Windows may need to be replaced after a hurricane if they’re severely damaged. For example, if you have windows with blown-out glass and a cracked frame, they will need to be replaced. It’s a similar story if you have windows with noticeable water damage. However, if your window pane has small cracks but the frame is still in good condition, you may be able to repair the window.

Installing bifold windows can take anywhere from three or four hours to several days. Smaller bifold windows that open vertically and fit inside your existing wall opening should take just a few hours and no longer than a day. Larger bifold windows, especially wider ones, may require structural work before your professional can install the window. The installation could take two to three days, depending on how much work your wall needs.

You can add any type of window to a brick house, so long as the window has proper support. Windows with wider openings and windows in brick walls will need a lintel to support the extra weight above the window frame. A lintel is a support beam that distributes the weight from above evenly around the window.

No, it’s not normal for windows to rattle in the wind. If they do, it may signal that there’s a larger problem at play. Common reasons that windows rattle in the wind are because the glass isn’t secure enough, the frame is loose, or the wood is rotting. In any of these cases, you should identify the problem and take steps to fix it.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
