"We are extremely happy with how our new windows and new front door turned out. After some unexpected challenges with the way our home was built, our installation crew quickly and efficiently adapted to make sure our windows and door were installed with expert care. Every time we see our new beautiful picture window we are left breathless! And our beautiful front door is the perfect upgrade for the look of our home. Thank you RBA!"

"My husband and I buy and flip houses. We recently purchased a house to flip and a few days after closing, it rained. The next morning, there was 8 inches of water in the crawl space! After talking with my contractor, he suggested I think about encapsulating it. Honestly, I had never heard of that. He suggested that I call Alpha Foundations. I said I would prefer to use someone local. I called both companies and Alpha was much more reasonable. When Eric came out for the initial call, he was very patient with me, answering all of my questions and explaining everything. Within a week, they set up the appointment and Will and Ryan came out. I could not have been more impressed with these two. They were very professional and informed me of everything they were doing. They finished the job in the time promised and cleaned up any mess they made. It was nice to deal with such a professional company and employees. I would highly recommend this company. Windows questions, answered by experts

When your double-hung window upper sash keeps falling down, it means you could be letting out warm air in the winter or cool air from the AC in the summer. That means your HVAC system works harder to warm or cool the house, costing you extra on electric bills.

If the lower sash continues to fall down, it means when you’ve popped open the window for fresh air, it could slam shut. In addition to being inconvenient, this could be dangerous if you have small kids, children, or pets that like to hang out by the window.

The average lifespan for a casement window is around 20 years, but some higher-end casement windows with more durable frame materials can last up to around 40 years before you need to replace them. You’ll need to carry out routine maintenance and window cleaning—and, on occasion, casement window restoration—to extend the lifespan of your casement windows. But they tend to wear more slowly than windows with sliding sashes because the weatherstripping sees minimal friction.

Arched windows are slightly more expensive than standard rectangular ones, but they only cost $50 to $100 more per window. However, adapting a rectangular wall opening to accept an arched window can add $200 to $400 to your total, making them a more expensive option over sticking with a standard window replacement.

Vinyl windows have a few cons to consider before installing. For instance, while vinyl windows are energy efficient in terms of maintaining your home’s temperature, the actual process of making vinyl windows involves chemicals that are harmful for the environment. Vinyl windows are also less customizable than some other types of windows.

While clean windows don't automatically increase home value, they make your home look more attractive from the outside, and since the exterior is the first thing a potential buyer will see, it can help make a good first impression that paints the rest of your home in a positive light. Educated homebuyers will see that your home is well cared for if they see clean window tracks and sparkling window glass, which can contribute to an overall positive opinion of your property. Clean windows give the impression that the rest of the home—including systems and appliances—is probably well-kept, too.
