"I had two separate jobs and Julio did a fantastic job on both. He was efficient, courteous, and professional in his work – and the price was very fair. What more can you ask for?"

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Handyman technician was on point. He did a great job. But Mr. Handyman sent one technician to do ceiling work at $179 per hour. I thought that should be reconsidered. I ended up helping the technician when and where I could. The front office and I had a mix up on the follow up appointment, but they did the right thing. Overall the workmanship was great. Customer service good. I would hire them again and recommend them to do work."

"Damian was outstanding. On a very tight timeline and a diverse project updating two bathrooms, tile, and paint, he was outstanding. I hate to recommend him because I don t want him to get too busy, but we will definitely use him again. Great attention to detail. Great communication. Nice to find a good one in an ocean of wannabes out there who don t have the common courtesy to return a phone call or show up at all!!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Swim spas are like hybrid hot tubs and pools. They have the heating and jets of a hot tub, but they’re slightly longer because they’re made for swimming and exercise. A jet provides a continuous current that acts like a water treadmill. You can swim the length of a full-size pool without going anywhere.

The best way to kill off an algae bloom in an aboveground pool is to shock it with a large dose of chlorine. Shock typically kills off algae in about one to three days, although it can take longer if the pool water is in poor condition. After the shock treatment, add algaecide to prevent algae from growing back, and test the water every few days with test strips to ensure the pool’s pH doesn’t get out of whack.

When you’re winterizing your pool, you need to drain some of the water to prevent cracking and warping from ice. Nonetheless, you should never drain all of the water. Ideally, you’ll lower the water level to anywhere from four to six inches below the skimmer. This will protect the structural integrity of the walls, help prevent your pool liner from warping, and reduce damage from debris.

Building a pool yourself will take at least eight to 12 weeks. After all, this is the building timeline after hiring a pool contractor who knows how to draw up plans, analyze your landscape, and apply for proper permits. If you choose to tackle any part of the process alone, assume building a pool will take two to three months at a minimum.

It’s best to avoid draining your pool onto your lawn for several reasons. Most importantly, your local municipality may not allow homeowners to drain pools in areas where it can seep into groundwater. Additionally, draining pool water on your lawn can cause erosion and damage your grass.
