"The owner, Ray, showed up on time and in person for our initial consultation. Ray is very knowledgeable and thorough, and throughout the entire project he kept us updated on the progress. When the project was finished, we were extremely pleased with the results. We will definitely be calling Pafford Electrical Services for all of our future electrical needs. When Ray shows up at your home, you can immediately tell that your project isn’t just another job to him—your project is treated with genuine care, attention to detail, and a commitment to getting it done right the first time. "I?ve never had Lightning Rods on my home before so I don?t have much to compare it to but he was prompt courteous cleaned up after himself and did everything he promised. For years I?ve handled fire claims for policyholders against insurance companies but I?ve never been to a fire at a location that had Lightning Rods. Just a thought."

"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

"Great working with Michael and will hire him again for any electrical work. Everything was done professionally and they completed the job all in one day as scheduled. He installed the electrical hook up for a relocated manufactured home."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

The main reason outlets become loose is because the contact points have started to wear down after years of use. Occasionally, poor wiring can cause heat or sparks that can damage the outlet and cause it to become loose. Either way, if your plugs slide out after being inserted into the outlet, it’s time to replace it.

Yes, you can put a GFCI outlet in almost any electrical outlet location. As long as the outlet is wired correctly back to a circuit breaker, you can likely replace the existing outlet with a GFCI outlet.

You can check if an electrician is licensed in California by using the online check a license tool offered by the Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors State License Board. You have the option of searching by the license number, the electrical contractor’s name, or the name of the business to determine the electrician’s status.

There are a few reasons your lights may be on, but the rest of your electrical outlets and appliances are not working. The first is that while one circuit blew out, the lights may be on another circuit than your other electrical fixtures. Alternatively, your powerless appliances may be plugged into a GFCI outlet that was tripped and needs to be reset. If these issues aren’t responsible for the problem, you may have dead outlets or a wiring issue. Either way, you should contact an electrician to identify and fix the issue.

Updating your old outlets, or adding grounding clamps to a metal box are two methods. Each home is different. Consult an electrician for advice on grounding a wire without doing extensive work to dig into the ground.
