"Magdiel was truly a pleasure to work with and we are thoroughly grateful for his review of our home. I had many concerns and he looked at and addressed them all. He never made us feel rushed even though he came on a Saturday morning. He was even kind enough to suggest we not pay for the report as he didn't feel it was necessary. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a structural engineer."

"Highly recommend! This is the second time I hired Michael Muntean for a structural analysis of my home and recommendations for repair. My house is a long ranch-style structure built in 1990. Mr. Muntean;s first analysis focused on the flooring underneath my kitchen area, as I requested, to ensure the structure was sufficient to support my kitchen renovation plan. His second visit six years later, focused on structural repairs necessary after I'd already done a major master bath renovation on the other side of the house. Key word: after Although the contractor who came out to address the kitchen support did good work, he fell short in working on the other structural issues Mr. Muntean had pointed out under the master bath area located on the opposite side of the house. I did not notice the omissions, and it came back to haunt me after the bathroom renovation was completed last year. Lesson learned: Obtain a professional engineering analysis before you begin any work that may affect the structural integrity of your home, and make sure any contractor you hire to do the work is qualified and meets or exceeds your consultants recommendations. Without Mr. Munteans guidance, especially on this second consult, I would have paid out twice as much money on repairs recommended by a well-known foundation company without really having had the core foundation problems addressed. Mr. Munteans reports are detailed, professional and customized for you, not cookie-cutter, so it may take up to 7-10 days to receive it. During his visit he encourages you to take notes. His pricing is competitive and he has absolutely no conflict of interest because he does not do the work, and typically will not recommend contractors. He strictly represents the home owner."

"Initial quote was great, but it took 7 return trips to get the job completed. The biggest issue was the man quoting it and the people doing the work don't seem to communicate. I had to keep calling them back and asking them to complete the job. They did not communicate well as to when they would do the work. Twice I took a day off work with the understanding they would finish the job. Once they showed up and did 20 min of work and said they had to go to the shop and would be back the next day. The other I called and asked where they were and they said they couldn't make it and would be out the next day. In the end, the work is good, but you have to stay on top of them to get the work completed."

A freestanding brick wall that's only one brick thick can usually stand six to eight feet high. If you need a higher wall, it should be at least two bricks thick for adequate stability, and it might require a footing to support the added weight. Additionally, some areas have regulations and codes dictating how high a brick wall can be, so check with local code enforcers to ensure your proposed wall complies with any regulations.

Building codes for spiral staircases will vary by your location. Most local codes will specify minimum tread width, riser height, handrail requirements, and headroom. These standards help ensure safety and accessibility for all users. Always check local codes before you begin the installation to ensure compliance and avoid costly modifications or fines.

Dormers must be able to bear the load of their own construction and the added window. The style of the dormer, however, will determine where the weight loads onto your home's structure. A gable dormer bears the weight on the side walls whereas a shed dormer bears it on the front walls.
