"I have used Bass Enterprises for several things I just could not choose them all from the drop down menu. We have been a customer for a good 5-6 years and I love them. Extremely reputable, honest pricing, friendly, hands on and punctuation every single time. My first visit was an emergency and Bass came to my home at 930 pm and that was outstanding. "Matt did the initial quote and was very helpful, knowledgable, straightforward in what needed to happen. The quote we received was the lowest and we had the most confidence in the process and work that was going to happen. The team that actually performed the work were punctual, clean, and thorough...very professional. They actually finished the work quicker than anticipated. They guaranteed they could get the level below 1.8pCi/L and when we received the test results after the mitigation it was at .5pCi/L. We would happily recommend Southern Radon Reduction!"

"We have a concern about the level of radon in our basement apartment. Jesse came to our home and ran a radon test for a week. He was very thorough and informative. He addressed our concerns and answered many of the questions we had. At the end of the test he immediately sent us a report showing the radon levels for the week. We were very pleased with the service received."

"I accompanied Mr. Manns and his associate on the inspection of my home. I felt as though he did a quality and detailed inspection and was generally helpful in answering the questions I had. I did find the report to be somewhat substandard, but this was not an issue since I had been on the inspection. Overall, I would recommend Mr. Manns and felt he offered good value for his work."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.

There are steps you can take as a homeowner to remediate radon yourself. While a radon reduction professional can make the biggest impact in your home, you can make efforts to improve radon levels on your own by sealing cracks, increasing ventilation, and testing for radon regularly.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is naturally present everywhere, it is impossible to avoid entirely. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if your home's test results are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.

No, radon mitigation systems do not decrease home value or make a home harder to sell. In areas where homes experience similar radon exposure risks, a radon mitigation system is viewed as an improvement. Potential homebuyers often opt to buy a home with a radon mitigation system already installed to reduce the risk of cancer for their families.
