A Buyer's Choice Home Inspections Chattanooga North is committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. We uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty and personal responsibility. Aren't those wonderful and noble words describing me? It fascinates me how we as a culture have evolved into this anonymous, faceless interaction. I am a bit old school...how in the world do you expect to 'get to know me' in the few words that I can write here. If you really want to find out who I am then call me. 423-888-3212 You will either like me, or not like me, but isn't it better to find out for real?

"Very thorough and thoughtful. Highly recommend!"

Professional Home Inspection Company, HomePro Inspection, Inc. serves the Greater Chattanooga Metropolitan and the North Georgia Areas. As a professional Home Inspector since September 1994, I look forward to working with you on the purchase of your home and performing a thorough home inspection for you.. I WANT YOU TO KNOW WHAT I SEE! Why is a Home Inspection so Important? With over 20 years experience as a professional Home Inspector many clients ask if I have seen it all. You might think so, but the FACT is almost every week and no less than once a month I discover that someone has invented a New Way to do it WRONG! Most needed corrections discovered during a Home Inspection are to prolong the life of the building, many are for general safety and in some cases the corrections are needed to prevent the loss of the structure or for life safety. With advancing technology and engineered building products installation instructions have become quite complicated and are ever changing. I call it job security because the number of weekend warriors and contractors that do not bother to stay current with their trade far exceed the number of homes that I can inspect each year. If more people would read the provided directions I very well could be out of a career, but not to worry, that will not happen any time soon. As a seasoned Home Inspector I do occasionally see great workmanship. I truly appreciate the hard work and impressive results that our area craftsmen take the time to perform. They are few and far between and deserve every ounce of respect and praise for a job well done. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Roger was very thorough and informative. He didn't mind me attending the entire inspection and asking lots of questions. My realtor also confirmed that he is the toughest, most thorough inspector she knows. Very satisfied and impressed, recommend highly."

Choosing the right home or commercial inspector can be difficult. Each has different qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and pricing. And unlike most professionals, you may not have the opportunity to meet me in person until after you hire me, so you must make your decision based on the information you see here on this website, and by talking to me on the phone. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately, a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector's own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I assure that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you. Additional email - [email protected]

"I met with the agent after the inspection was complete. He walked me through the results explaining in depth (and in layman terms) anything that needed attention and items that he felt were exceptional. He went as far to tell me it might be a good idea to remove the diving board in the pool area because 90% of all pool injuries are a result of diving boards and/or slides and that it may result in higher insurance costs. He also explained a lot about septic systems and swimming pools that I wasn't aware of. The previous owner had an inspector come in before listing the home and fixed everything on his list. Most items my inspector found were minor and inexpensive to fix. Finding the failed connection to a bathroom drain really impressed me. The drain worked properly unless a large amount of water flowed trough it (emptying the tub). I feel he went over and above his duties and would recommend this company to anyone needing inspection services."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Inspections for new construction may not be legally required, but you should consider them a must if you’re buying a new home. The quality of the construction can vary widely by builder, and many inspections, even for brand-new homes, can uncover problems with framing, structural components, mechanicals, appliances, and more. Professional inspection reports give you leverage to push the associated repair costs to the builder rather than paying for them yourself, so they’re always worthwhile, if only for the peace of mind they provide.

If you intend to do the majority of the work yourself, you can pay to hire an architect or a structural engineer to ensure your home remains structurally sound. They can help with the planning to make sure everything is up to code and safe for your family. On the other hand, if you’re not sure your home will be completely safe when you’ve completed the project, let a pro do the job.

The size of your home, whether it’s a structural inspection versus a home inspection, and the inspector’s experience and skill level will dictate how long a home inspection takes. However, inspections are generally completed in 30 minutes to half a day.

Beyond looking for visible signs of mold in a home, you can tell if your house has mold by undertaking testing. You can hire a local mold testing company to run the test for you, giving you a sure answer. Professional testing is often the best way to determine whether you have mold, as some types of mold may grow in places where you can’t easily see them, such as behind walls.

As a home seller, you may want to conduct a pre-listing home inspection to help you finalize a fair asking price for your property. In most cases, though, the homebuyer pays for the inspection. This allows them to make an informed decision before proceeding with any purchase. The inspection is done before the deal is closed, and the buyer pays the inspector shortly after they submit their report.
