"The work that they did looks good.  Ripped out many rotten boards, and replaced with new boards and worked around a gas line successfully. My only issues is that I asked to have all of the rotten boards ripped out and replaced, and when i inspected afterward, I found a lot of boards that had significant rot, including a built in bench.  I ended up ripping out a bunch of additional deck boards and the wooden bench, went to Home Depot, had the boards cut to the exact size of the ones took out, and screwed down the deck boards myself and re-built the bench.  I wanted to avoid doing the work myself, but got stuck half pregnant with a job that was started, and not finished the way I wanted when I started the project in the first place.  The price for the additional work (beyond the 6 hours for $199) was much more than I expected.  I also thought I was going to be paying for 4-8 extra hours, and even at a "25% discount to normal rate" spent almost an additional $1,000 on labor, and had to finish the job myself.  Perhaps I don't have a realistic idea of how much time was really needed for this job, but it was more than I was expecting and didn't complete the work I wanted done.

Even Cedarwood makes the occasional error, but the difference is they identify the mistake before we found it, and re-work the task at their cost to make it right. Professional - Getting it done on time. No false timelines are promised, instead outline the expectations and equally important, keep us in the loop as to bumps and changes that come along. They understand communication with us is critical. Professional - not the least expensive but more than a fair price reflecting the superior quality product they deliver. These are the differences and why we chose Cedarwood Forest instead of “a guy who builds decks”."
