"He did fantastic. He gave me a time frame of when he would be able to do the work & the time he would be finished. He met both time frames. He explained the problems he found & the solutions & fixed them. He was easy to work with & friendly. I would recommend him to anyone & should I ever need his services again I would definitely hire him again. Thanks for having him on your recommendation list."

"Hunter and his team installed crown moldings for me in my kitchen and dining room areas. They got me on their schedule much sooner than I expected and were here when they said they would be. Their craftsmanship was impressive and their personalities were very hospitable. I finally found a dependable contractor. No need for me to continue to look for one, because I found a keeper!!!"

"Custom wood painted deck and wheelchair ramp. These guys were absolutely phenomenal. I am very happy with their work and plan to use them again. They went above and beyond the scope of work they quoted me on. I'm delighted. Could not possibly recommend any more highly. They are A+++ in my book!"

"I hired Rios Renovations to paint the interior of the house we just bought. It needed some updates, and I asked them to paint the walls and window/door trim white. They were fantastic and the crew completed the painting in a few days! They paid attention to detail and the work was done very well. I am very happy with the results and will hire them to paint my basement soon as well. Since I was so happy with the painting I then hired them to install my LVP flooring. I was also very happy with the results of this work and impressed with how quickly it was done and how wonderful the floors look. I highly recommend Mr. Rios and his team for any project you need completed. He is professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and prompt. I chose my paint color and bought the supplies needed, and the same with the flooring (which he picked up for me for a better price than the flooring store for delivery.) Mr. Rios also helps with other things like taking the old carpet to the dump."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

If you remove a load-bearing wall to create an entrance to a carport or covered patio, you can expect to pay between $3,200 and $9,500, with an average cost of $6,400. Factors such as the type of addition and if that area needs additional work will add to the price.

When deciding whether to use nails or screws for framing, the specific needs of the project must be taken into account. Nails have long been the go-to option for framing due to their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to withstand shear forces. They are perfect for structural framing projects where fast assembly is essential. In contrast, screws offer exceptional holding power and are particularly useful in situations requiring increased strength and resistance to pull-out forces. For projects that prioritize accuracy and long-lasting quality, screws may be the preferred option, though nails remain a dependable and efficient choice.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

Costs depend on desk size, labor, included features like drawers or motorized height adjustments, and required wall anchoring.
