I have an extensive background in lighting repair and knowledge on residential electrical devices, including receptacles, switches, and device changes. I also have experience with retrofit LED conversions from traditional lighting. I can also do custom work with old fixtures that may have been broken for years and can also turn something that is not a light fixture into a light fixture if desired.

"Hired to have my barn power washed and this company did an excellent job. They were in my budget and came out when they said they would. Will be using them again"

"We just moved to this area, they had done some work for my neighbors and they were highly recommended, so we decided to hire them to fix and update a very old and beaten up existing deck. There were some bumps on the road and the job took longer than expected, but at the end our deck came out beautifully. Nathaniel and his crew gave everything they got and worked super hard to finish the job successfully. Very honest and hard workers, reasonable prices and good work ethic. Great workmanship. We would definitely hire them again for our next project."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

First of all, don’t shop for bargain lights—often, you’ll end up with a faulty or broken strand, full of dead bulbs or less-than-luminous brightness. Choose quality lights that will last you many years—LED lights have been known to last as long as 100,000 hours. Second, plan ahead and purchase lights for next year’s Christmas during this year’s post-holiday sales. Finally, have a vision and a plan—if you know the measurements of your home, including any windows, doors, and outside bushes you wish to light up, you should be able to only purchase the necessary lights and not more than you need.

Professional Christmas decorators offer everything from hanging lights in and outside your home to decorating the tree and adding decor around the house. Decorators may focus on porches, foyers, staircases, mantelpieces, and other similar focal areas.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

It’s unnecessary to tip holiday decorators, and most professionals won’t expect it, but it’s a nice gesture to show your appreciation for their work. If the expert goes above and beyond to keep your delicate decorations safe, or they’re hanging your exterior lights and putting out lawn decorations in freezing temperatures or inclement weather, a tip between 10% and 20% of your total will be appreciated. Large jobs that include interior and exterior work are also good opportunities to tip, especially if your expert is performing a rush job close to the holidays.

Professional holiday decorators are used to working with homeowners with varying needs, so the services can include nearly anything related to holiday decorations. Some services you might want to consider include the following:

  • Exterior light hanging

  • Other exterior decorations

  • Exterior tree decorating

  • Interior tree design and decorating

  • Removing holiday decorations at the end of the season

  • Packaging decorations after removal

  • Holiday decoration storage
