A gentleman took it and quickly proved he wasn’t a stranger for long. He clearly knew the waitstaff — lots of joking and easy conversation — and we ended up chatting right along with him. He finished before we did, quietly paid our bill, and wished us a good day. Such a simple gesture, and yet it meant so much. We learned he owns Acton Home Solutions in Abbeville, Alabama — and based on our brief encounter, he’s full of kindness. Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. (Well… scholar, we can’t fully confirm since we didn’t quiz you in trivia.)"

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

It is my opinion that my core competency and overall value offering eliminates the two largest setbacks that consistently prove to be problematic in this line of work… Communication and Price. I provide a solution to what seems to be the newfound industry standard of “subcontractors.” Cut out all the miscommunication that comes from discussing your project with one person, just to have another person complete it. If the person you are paying is not the person completing the work, you are PAYING TOO MUCH!

"They did a great job cleaning all the tile and stone for the coupon price of $99 and offered to apply a seal for $50 more. My experience with stone and tile sealer is that it enhances the look of the stone and the colors pop but this didn't happen with this sealer so a little disappointed in that as the first time my stone was sealed it really came out beautifully.  I'll probably buy some stone sealer at Home Depot or Lowe's and apply it myself.  I recommend the tile cleaning offered but wouldn't opt to get it sealed again.

He arrived on time, painted 2 separate stairways with very high walls on day 1 and then day 2 painted our living room very high ceilings. Overall, could not have had a better experience. "From the first contact to the last, Backyard Custom was professional. The whole experience was easy. Due to the recent snow storm, we had to delay the job for three days. I was involved in the construction industry my entire career and I can testify that this was one of the most efficient and well constructed projects I have seen. The showed up at 8am and left just under 8 hours later. Job done!! Quality!!! I can imagine the surprise of many of my neighbors who drove by my house in the morning with an empty spot in my back yard to find driving home a large 16' X 24" Shed. "Richard is excellent! The only problem with Richard is that he is so busy that he still hasn't had time to get on my next project of levelling the floor, installing the heat strips and setting 500 sq ft of 6x36 ceramic tile. He's going to start that next weekend and I'm sure that I will be giving you another review. All joking aside, Richard is very professional. He has very good equipment which says knowledge and success. He priced the job low and still did several extra things that I asked him to do while he was there. He asked for no extra money. Being a business owner myself, I felt that the job was so well done that I increased the total by 30% and still felt that I was underpaying. (Update) First let me say that Richard is an outstanding human being. I would trust him with my wallet. He works very hard to please the Customer. We are doing a complete remodel of our guest house and so far Richard has done the entire bedroom. That includes sheetrock, tile floor, paint and trim. As I stated in the previous review, he did a great job hanging the rock and did it so cheap that I paid him extra. The tile in that bedroom, about 450SqFt., is 6" X 36" on a very unlevel concrete slab. He worked his butt off getting that tile down. It wasn't perfect but I don't think anyone could have done better with that very difficult tile job. So, the sheetrock and tile were very good but then came the painting. The painting was really bad. I think that he got behind his scheduling because of the high difficulty of the tile job and rushed the paint. He chose to spray the walls and there is overspray everywhere. He put down tarps but they mare really for brush and roller work, not sprayers. Paint also shows the flaws in the sheetrock finishing and there were more quite a few. Richard worked diligently trying to fix them. I actually felt sorry for him, paid him and let him get on to his next job. I have another painter coming in to repair the paint job and I am working nights with paint thinner to clean the tile myself. I would still use Richard on some projects now that I know his skill level. I just expected too much from a man that bills himself as a handyman. All that said, if you have any tile job, Richard is as good as any contractor out there. I don't want to cost Richard any work. I own my business and admit that I have high expectations from other self-employed businessmen."
