"Georgis Best Concrete, LLC completely replaced my driveway, sidewalk and front steps yesterday. Their work is absolute perfection! Chris Tamayo (owner) explained clearly what would be done and quoted a great price for complete removal and replacement of an old driveway, sidewalk and front steps. The team he sent was amazing - they are professional and definitely expert at concrete installation. Every team member worked carefully and diligently to compete the job. Chris was here working with them to inspect and approve the installation. I could not be happier with my new driveway, sidewalk and steps!! If you need any concrete work done I highly recommend Georgia Best Concrete, LLC!!"

"My driveway is beautiful, and I hope it withstands the test of time. Classic Concrete was the cheapest of three estimates we received. They were delayed for a couple of weeks in the middle of the project due to rain, and they left a Bobcat sitting in our yard during the rainy period (almost two weeks). When they drove it out of the yard it messed up our front yard. The company also did not stick to the original estimate he gave us citing circumstances he did not see when he gave us the original estimate."

"Concrete Solutions did better than expected. After a very frustrating home addition with another contractor, the driveway was the last step. I had 4 quotes come in and they were not the lowest price, but I spoke with the owner and they have been in business for 23 years. They gave my project the time it needed to make sure every aspect from the curbs to the drainage were done correctly. We will have this driveway for the rest of my lifetime and I am glad we chose Concrete Solutions."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

A driveway's lifespan varies by material. Asphalt driveways typically last 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last longer, between 20 and 50 years. The longevity of any driveway is affected by factors like extreme temperatures, heavy traffic, and the quality of maintenance. Regular upkeep, such as filling cracks, resealing the surface, and ensuring proper drainage, can help extend its life. For gravel driveways, regrading to fill in uneven areas every year or two is recommended.

Asphalt is not a type of concrete. While both are a common type of pavement, asphalt is composed of aggregates (like sand and gravel) and bitumen; concrete is a mixture of cement, aggregates, and water. Here are some of the key differences between asphalt and concrete driveways.

Yes, you can retrofit an existing driveway, but this usually involves cutting grooves into the driveway, installing the heating elements, then sealing them. While this is much less expensive than typical heated driveway systems, the final appearance could be diminished. Speak with a driveway paving company to confirm which design method is best for you.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.

The cost to replace a driveway ranges from $8 to $15 per square foot, depending on factors that include material, size, and labor. If your driveway has deep cracks, potholes, or drainage issues (or if it’s simply past its prime), replacement might be the smarter investment over constant repairs. Resurfacing can be a cheaper alternative at $3 to $20 per square foot, but it won’t fix your driveway’s underlying problems.
