Although sunlight, rain, and snow can wear down the putting green, regular turf maintenance, like cleaning up debris and replacing worn-out sections, can extend the life of your green to hit that 15-year mark.

Installers prepare the surface, lay a sub-base for drainage, position the grass carpet, attach seams, and add infill for realism and turf stability.

Typical playing greens on professional circuits are around 1,000 to 1,500 square feet. But it’s not likely that you’ll be trying to hit it from 200 yards out—most residential putting greens range from 200 to 600 square feet. A small DIY putting green kit is around 100 square feet; a good option if you're tight on space.
