"Empyre Landscape was absolutely amazing. They came with everything that was needed to do the job. They went straight to work. The owner And the Crew was very respectful and prepared. The cost to remove the trees was very reasonable. They did an excellent job of cleaning up and removing debris. "Optimum service experience. Project started out well when Patrick showed up when he said he would for the initial estimate. Once contracted, Patrick and his crew showed up on time to do the work -- removal of four trees, three fairly small and one quite large. Tree removal took the better part of a full day, with an additional half day for stump grinding and removal of remaining debris. The crew took care to minimize damage to collateral vegetation and hardscape, and paid significant attention to minimizing debris falling into my neighbor's yard. Final cleanup included raking and blowing sawdust and bits from both my yard and my neighbor's yard. Very impressive."

"The neighbors tree had grown to my side and according to Fl statue it was my responsibility to trim. I got on Angi and contacted this company. I received same day service and it was above my expectation. El árbol del vecino había crecido a mi lado y, según la ley de Florida, era mi responsabilidad podarlo. Contacté con Angi y esta empresa. Recibí un servicio el mismo día y superó mis expectativas."

"Paul and crew safely removed a very large tree that was damaged during Hurricane Nicole. They worked me into their schedule because of the danger of damage to my sheds and power line. The price was very fair, and I am happy with the service and level of communication provided."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

Light-bark trees are most notorious for producing lots of sap when wounded. These varieties include maples, birches, poplars, dogwoods, magnolias, and elms, and they will bleed more when the trees are dormant. That’s why it’s a good idea to prune them in the summer months rather than waiting until winter.

Not all evergreen conifers need to be pruned, but some do. Pruning pine trees is not necessary, but you can do so during June and July if you wish. On the other hand, spruce, firs, and junipers do need to be pruned from late winter to early spring.

Pruning a tree is a yearly DIY job that involves removing small dead branches, leaves, and blooms to help the tree grow bigger and stronger. You can often complete the job with basic home gardening tools. Trimming a tree, however, removes larger sections to control the direction the tree grows in and protects your home, utility wires, and yard from potentially dangerous branches.

Finding a reliable arborist starts with researching specialists in your area and checking their licensing and certifications. Use online resources like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to conduct research on each company. Next, contact the arborist and ask the following questions to see whether they are the right fit for your project:

  • Do you handle or specialize in dealing with the issue I’m having?

  • Are you fully insured?

  • Do you have customer references I can call?

  • Do you have any third-party certifications?

  • What equipment and strategies do you plan to use?
