"Omega drain services was great at solving my issue. I had a clog in two of my bathrooms that were connected to the same line. This same issue happened a month ago where another plumbing company snaked the line. I thought it fixed the issue but to my surprise it was clogged again a month later. I recommend hydro cleaning service offered by omega. When they unclogged the drain with the hydro cleaning service I could see the water flow out to the city line for about 3 minutes. That showed me how bad the clog was. I definitely recommend their services. I have a large family so I will be doing this once every 12-18 months. It s really not that expensive considering your covering the whole house."

"We needed our sewer line replaced. The estimate we received from the company we had been using was astronomically high. I called a few places and Pipedex promptly returned my call. They came out the day after Christmas, when their office was still closed for the holidays. My husband is in a wheelchair, so digging up our floors was not an option. They were able to reroute the sewer line and replace all our plumbing for 1/3 the price of our old corporate plumbing company. Aleks, Serge, Junior, Dalton and Ivan are masters at what they do. They were all courteous and respectful of our home. They finished on budget and we couldn’t be more appreciative."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Regrading your yard can often fix drainage problems. You can also try aerating the lawn to encourage better drainage or install a new drainage system to prevent water from pooling in certain areas.

French drains may fail when they become clogged with soil granules that slip through the pores of the landscaping fabric and through the holes in the pipe.

Over time, this debris can build up inside the pipe and prevent water flow. To prevent this failure from happening, regularly flush out your French drain and keep debris away from the inlet grate.

Air gaps get clogged by a few different means. Over time, food and grime can collect in the air gap, leading to a blockage. Mineral deposits from hard water are a common problem. Mineral buildup creates a film in the air gap and tubing, which can cause flow issues, as well as attract debris. Homeowners with hard water may want to remove mineral deposits regularly to keep the air gap clean and clear.

It is generally not recommended to pour hot or boiling water down a drain to unfreeze pipes due to significant risks. In some cases, the sudden temperature change can cause more ice buildup or produce steam, which increases pressure and could cause the pipe to burst, leading to costly damage and potential burn injuries. While hot water might help with a partially frozen drainpipe, it is unlikely to thaw a completely blocked water pipe further down the system. Additionally, boiling water can damage plastic pipes over time. Safer and more effective methods include using a space heater near the frozen section or applying hot towels directly to the pipe.

Using less toilet paper is the easiest way to prevent future clogs. Also, avoid flushing sanitary products, thick paper towels, or hair down the toilet. If you’ve been using a brick in the tank to reduce the water used to flush the toilet, take it out immediately. Bricks will eventually fall apart and clog your toilet drain. Keeping your toilet lid closed also helps avoid future clogs.
