"Mr. Rooter of St. Augustine is punctual and fast. He found the problem right away, fixed it. The price was reasonable. He pulled the carpet and followed the trail of moisture to the sink, turned on the faucet and knew exactly that it was a slow leaking drain basket in the kitchen. When I called he was here within 30 min."

"I suspected that the company which quoted me $7,425 for a new drain field had not researched the issue properly. I contacted Dominique from Green's Environmental Services after hours and had an excellent conversation. The following day he sent out Derek Woodruff who inspected the system, determined that the drain field was functioning well, and showed me where the problem lay. It was a malfunctioning switch on the aging sump pump, plus a failed alarm system. That afternoon Ken came out and installed the new pump and alarm, explained how the whole septic system works and how to best take care of it for longevity. The whole cost was just under $1,400, saving me $6,000! I couldn't be happier with Green's and they will be the go-to guys for our septic system from now on. They are true experts, and trustworthy, decent people."

"Steve and his team were amazing. I cannot recommend them enough. From the initial evaluation, Steve was honest about my system. He quickly identified those portions of the system that were functioning and not functioning. Steve and the team check the functioning aspects of the system to ensure they were functioning, would last and not require replacement. I NEVER felt like I was being up-sold or taken advantage. I cannot recommend Steve and the team at Filtration Direct enough for any issue you maybe having with your water. His team is honest, respectable and very professional. Not to mention the work they did was top notch. Thank You"

"I don’t recall any troubles with scheduling. He was unable to complete the work on what we had wanted to have him do. We didn’t have the correct components to install a new sink in at the time. He was able to install the new toilet insides as I had all of the parts available for him. The plumber did share his disappointment in how there was some facts left out of the fine print for the Big Deal. We liked him and would consider hiring him again."

"Excellent work done by Andre owner of A&W plumbing services. He excelled all expectations, timely, detail oriented, precise, quickly adapted to challenges while installing and cleaned up after work. He also took the old tank for disposal. I will recommend him for anyone who would need plumbing services at a reasonable price. Good job Angi in listing Andre as one of your service providers."

"

We have 2.5 acres and a 10-zone system that is 18 years old.  I knew we had a lot of water leakage and rotors that might need replacing, not just adjusting.  They went about marking all zones and sprinklers, gave me a quote for identified repairs.  The price was a little high, but I went ahead and had them proceed with the repairs which took most of the day.  I had already purchased gear-driven rotor heads (Hunter PGP) which the technician used as needed which was very nice.  They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need.   Overall job was very good and I am glad I called them.

I would definitely use them again for services and will need to have an additional zone added (split a current zone into 2 separate ones).   We retired and I can usually handle the small day to day requirements for our current system.  But having a scheduled maintenance contract seems to be ideal and I would definitely use Tom and his company again.

"This is the second time we have used A National Electric. The first time was for installation of 3 ceiling fans and this most recent time was to replace our pool pump timer. Nick is very courteous, professional, and was a pleasure to deal with. He came out the same day we called and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The price to install the new timer was very fair and the quality of work was excellent. We will definitely call Nick again for any future electrical needs."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

When a dishwasher discharges its wastewater, it uses a pump to quickly move a lot of water. If anything in the drain line or the garbage disposal impedes the high volume of water, it will back up into the sink through the drain or the garbage disposal. Following regular dishwasher maintenance tips like clearing clogs, keeping them cleared, and occasionally running the disposal will eliminate the problem.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.
