"I debated on leaving a review, but I really don’t want anyone to be almost scammed like we were. The 5 star reviews on google and home advisor may seem great, but make sure to read the 2 horrible experiences that their customers went through on BBB. That’s the reason I am leaving this on here now. Communication with Ebed was great! His estimate was great, too! Two of the reasons on why we decided to go with him, and another being the positive google reviews. But communication went completely downhill once we put down our deposit. There was some time in between but he was aware of the strict timeline we had due to other construction plans. After the signed contract and deposit, there was no more verbal communication with him, even though I asked. Just short texts with an excuse as to why he couldn’t start on the confirmed date or that he will “call shortly” and he never does! I allowed the first excuse, but then it became a pattern. Whether it was true or not, I do not know. But a customer should not have to constantly take the initiative, especially after money has been transferred. It went from out of town, bad reception, family reunion, another project took longer than expected, in a meeting can’t pick up. He kept pushing back the start date and then would not communicate. Dates went from 10/23, to 10/30, to 11/1, to 11/6. Ebed apologized for his lack of communication. But then it still continued! We ended up wanting our deposit back. Thankfully it was just a small deposit unlike the others on BBB. But that was not an easy task. Multiple unanswered phone calls and messages with barely a reply. He had the time to send a text to say he’ll send it, but he couldn’t take the couple minutes to Zelle back my money. It wasn’t until my husband mentioned small claims court that he finally replied and Zelle’d us back. Contractors with good communication are hard to find. And this isn’t one of them! Because of Ebed and his empty promises, we are now in a rush to find a contractor for our project! He knew of our strict deadline and he didn’t even care. I am glad we didn’t proceed with using him for our important project and that we dug deeper and found the BBB reviews."
