"During the estimate we did a walkthrough the house with the onwer to explain him what we wanted and needed during the process. He was very patient, listend to our needs and answered all our questions. The first day of work the crew was on time and worked all day long. Honest and hardworking employees, must say. The bottom line is that they were able to fix our old floor and now we get a lot of compliments. We sure are recommending Martinez to friends and family because they are the best."

"He is detailed and he puts a good deal of thought into his work. He is very precise and works in a clean manner. I have always been pleased with his work and have had him work on some big projects. He is always above board with the details of the project and I have never had any questions about his honesty or integrity. We go over the details of the project together and he delivers. He is a good guy and conducts himself professional. He is definitely comfortable with high end expensive materials, and he can handle the jobs that require a greater attention to detail. Gennier has always done really nice, clean and professional work. He is friendly, and I have always been pleased because he has helped make my life easier."

"Mr.Fernandez did excellent work. He had to carry tiles, mud set and grout up a circular stairway and didn't charge extra for that. He leveled the patio so all areas would drain properly- no puddling. His price was very reasonable. Would definitely hire him again. A very conscientious person"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

Penny tile should be sealed to protect the grout from moisture and keep stains from damaging the look of the tile. If penny tile is in a humid or high-traffic area, like a bathroom, kitchen, or entryway, it needs sealant. Any type of tile and grout is best maintained with a sealant reapplied by a pro every one to two years.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.

If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.
