"From the day that I met Bob, owner/operator off Zen TherAquatics, I knew that he would make my longtime dream of having a fish pond come to life. This is someone who truly has a passion for all things rocky and aquatic. From helping me pick the best spot, to being open and patient to my many changes, to bringing my ideas to life, the entire pond building experience was an absolute joy. Bob is a very hard worker. He showed up early, stayed late and was able to accomplish a lot each day. Iâ ll be adding fish in a week or two once itâ s more established. I highly recommended Zen TherAquatics to anyone wanting a pond, waterfall, or just needing maintenance."

"DC Lawn Service has my mom's property looking better than it has looked in a long time. Previous lawn services started out OK but ended up doing less and less work as time went on - especially when it came to weeding and trimming bushes. I am very happy with Dawayne and his crew and never worry that they won't do what they promised. Their prices are reasonable and they show up when they say they will, which is very important to me. I would hightly recommend them for both maintenance and new landscape work.

"We met Jeffrey Voth, the owner of Elegant Lighting at the Home Show at Tropicana Field and we discussed our interest in night time lighting for our home. We agreed on a date and Jeff came to our home to discuss our lighting plan. He made suggestions that we hadn't thought of that really enhanced the look of our home and highlighted our landscaping. The best part of what Elegant Accents offers is what Jeff calls a soft install. He came during the day and installed all the lights and then came again after dark. We moved lights around for almost two hours and were able to see how they would actually look during the night time hours. When we were completely satisfied the lights were permanently installed the next day. Jeff was very professional and easy to work with. Our house looks wonderful at night now and if you want outdoor lighting I highly recommend Elegant Accents. Peter Bosco"

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

We’ve explained how deep-rooted plants can damage a septic tank from the outside, but plenty of things can ruin it from the inside, too. For example, flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, and wipes) can clog your septic tank. Cooking oil, grease, and household chemicals can also harm your system. And since a new septic system costs between $3,460 and $11,450, it’s worth following these guidelines.

Most septic tanks need to be emptied every 3 to 5 years, but it’s a good idea to monitor the fill levels of your septic tank all the time. You can do this by installing a pressure level sensor to detect the internal tank pressure, or by having a septic tank company perform an annual inspection to let you know when you’ll need to pump the tank.

Most homeowners know there’s a septic system problem when they can smell one. However, this isn’t exactly a scientific deduction method. Consider some of the other signs: standing water or constantly damp earth in the drainage area, toilets and sinks that won’t drain or frequently back up, and loud plumbing. You really need to be on top of routine maintenance with septic systems in order to avoid such unpleasant symptoms of a septic issue.

The easiest thing you can do to prolong the life of your septic system is to adopt septic-safe practices. This includes not flushing non-biodegradable items, chemicals, or excessive grease down drains and scheduling regular septic tank pumping to prevent buildup. It’s also important to fix plumbing leaks promptly and to practice water conservation to avoid overloading the system. To maintain your drain field, avoid heavy vehicle traffic and plant shallow-rooted vegetation in the area. Most importantly, invest in routine inspections and maintenance to detect and address issues early.

It depends on several factors, such as the equipment used and the company. However, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes to pump an average-size septic tank of 1,000 gallons. A larger tank that is over 1,500 gallons can take up to an hour to pump as long as there are no complications.
