We are a local lawn and landscape management company. My father, Lanis C. Capshaw, started this company in the early 80's and I took responsiblity of the business after he passed away. Since then, it has been my commitment and pride to make sure our work is the best quality possible. We are also licensed and insured to maintain professionalism.

"We tried to contact customer for 7 weeks,theinformation he provided wasn incorrect.when customer did call he was very upset that we stopped service after no payment was received after 7 weeks. As a business we have to decide when to turn over an account to collections as we did in this case. As of 8/31/2013 we still have not been paid for services rendered. We gave this customer 9 weeks to settle invoice and he chose not to."

Update 03/14: After the initial installation, things went downhill. (I changed my previous A ratings to more accurately reflect the total experience.) Our sod never thrived. Dawayne blamed the distributor, then us. He did replace large sections once at no cost. It basically died out again, in many places. He said we watered too much, then too litle, then blamed all the weeds on the birds (doesn't everyonehave birds?). We had mutliple unhappy conversations. Finally we contracted with an outside service for fertilzier, pest control etc. to try to save the lawn and told Dawayne that we only wanted him to mow. He said fine. Then I sent him the check for another month and he returned it saying that "They no longer served our area." All in all, I found him difficult to work with. In retrospect, I think there are better choices.

On our initial walk-thru, Dwayne noticed some issues with our lawn that our lawn pest control company has not properly addressed. He provided the details I needed to contact the company and have them address. When he was out today to install the mulch, he noticed that the problem hadn't been addressed. He happened to have the necessary chemical to deal with the issue and offered to spot treat the problem at no additional cost even though this was another company's problem.
After our initial meeting to discuss the work to be done, he called with a quote and a scheduled date to perform the service. Due to rain, he was delayed a day and made a point to call and keep us posted on when he'd be able to do the work. A one day delay was no problem for us. We were so pleased with this experience working with Dwayne and his crew that we have already asked him to schedule trimming all of our shrubs and intend to do that on a regular schedule now that we have found someone that we feel we can rely on. All in all, a great first experience! Great customer service!

I did have a friend of mine mowing my lawn when ever he could get to it but when I came home from work today what a difference between a want to be company and a professional company and DC Lawn Service is definitely a professional company.
Dwayne also fixed a broken sprinkler line that I had, and that I knew about and told him to fix it. I can not say enough about this company and Dwayne, what a great man.
