We contacted Amtek about having the Duct work repaired, This Very polite young man Showed up. Very knowledgeable, respectful, and clean. even took off his shoes. Allen went into the attic and found not only the duct work was in unrepairable shape but the A.C system had indeed had mold growth as well very rusted and falling apart!!! provided more then enough pictures and video inspection, too back his story up. also found out our insulation was below standard and needed tobe brought up todate. after many phone calls to Tom and Jim, Allen was able to save almost 7k of savings and rebates to help us afford our much needed correction on our issues. I would highly recommend Allen and Amtek To all my family and friends with any future work that they need.

Sincerely;

Adela Duran

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Start with a comprehensive attic assessment to verify your home meets current Florida energy standards. Prioritize rigorous air sealing around plumbing and electrical gaps to block hot, humid air from entering your living spaces. Inspect all existing materials for hidden pest damage from termites or rodents. Furthermore, verify that your HVAC ducts have adequate coverage, as uninsulated ducts cause massive cooling losses in the Sebring heat.

Helpful?

After completing insulation service, request an official building inspection to verify the work meets current standards. Monitor your attic and wall humidity closely in the weeks following installation, as Sebring experiences high moisture levels that accelerate mold growth. Hire an HVAC professional to re-balance your cooling system for optimal performance. Finally, collect all R-value documentation from your contractor to apply for available FL energy efficiency rebates.

Helpful?

To keep your family and pets safe during insulation service in Sebring, arrange for an indoor location away from the work zone. Florida heat makes waiting outside dangerous. High humidity concentrates airborne particles and slows the off-gassing of new materials. Keep children and pets completely clear of the area until a licensed contractor confirms the space is free of dust, fibers, and any disturbed pests like rodents or snakes.

Helpful?

Schedule immediate insulation service if you discover visible mold, active pest infestations, or post-storm water intrusion. Wet materials in the intense FL heat become severe structural hazards within two days. If your existing materials remain dry and intact but simply fall below modern standards, wait for the cooler winter months. Scheduling attic work between November and February provides a safer, more comfortable environment for local contractors in Sebring.

Helpful?

Watch for an air conditioner that runs constantly, even during cooler winter months. Persistent indoor humidity above 60 percent and noticeable mold or moisture stains in your attic indicate failing materials. If your Sebring home was built before 2001, your existing materials fall short of modern Florida energy standards. Unusually high summer cooling bills also signal an urgent need to upgrade your home with fresh insulation service.
