"My husband and I buy and flip houses. We recently purchased a house to flip and a few days after closing, it rained. The next morning, there was 8 inches of water in the crawl space! After talking with my contractor, he suggested I think about encapsulating it. Honestly, I had never heard of that. He suggested that I call Alpha Foundations. I said I would prefer to use someone local. I called both companies and Alpha was much more reasonable. When Eric came out for the initial call, he was very patient with me, answering all of my questions and explaining everything. Within a week, they set up the appointment and Will and Ryan came out. I could not have been more impressed with these two. They were very professional and informed me of everything they were doing. They finished the job in the time promised and cleaned up any mess they made. It was nice to deal with such a professional company and employees. I would highly recommend this company. Sandy and Greg D Brunswick GA."

"The service department came out and inspected my problem windows. One pane needs to be replaced due to lack of gas between the panes. The service technician demonstrated why one window leaked due to high pressure water on the window (greater pressure than hurricane rains.) I had one total window that had a white film on the upper portion of each panel. He blamed it on my sprinklers, which do not touch the windows. I was angry about his response because I couldn't understand how if it was caused by the sprinklers, why was it only on the upper portion and not at the middle or bottom of the window. (The window opens from bottom to top). The service tech. was able to use soap/water and a razor blade to scrap off the white film. Overall, the service tech. did a good to fair job. Hopefully, he contacted the appropriate person to get my one bad window replaced. I'm waiting to find out when they will replace the one window."

If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.
Window replacement can become costly, especially if you’re replacing your whole home. There are a few steps you can take to help save money on the bottom cost while still giving your windows a facelift.
Replace multiple windows at once to bundle your purchase
Inquire about discounts, coupons, or special offers
Consider window repair as soon as you see damage to help prevent the need for replacement
Maintain your windows often by inspecting your windows for drafts, leaks, and cracks
There are certain window repairs that are cost-effective to DIY and relatively simple for homeowners to tackle themselves. Tasks like replacing a screen, replacing a lock, or sealing a window are typically under $30 and take minimal time to do yourself. However, if you need to replace your window or repair a broken double pane, it’s best to call in a professional window replacement installer to lend a hand. Replacing the majority or all of the windows in your home is a time consuming job and best left to a professional.
Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.
The time it takes to replace a window is a total of four to 15 weeks. This time includes your initial consultation, appointments for measuring, as well as ordering and manufacturing your windows. For a smaller job, you can expect the total timeline to be on the shorter end, but for a whole house window replacement, it might take longer (or be split into multiple install appointments). Once your windows are created and ready to be installed, your window installer will take 30 to 60 minutes per window to install.
