"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

Nick the owner was very professional and clearly explained the stages of the project and was able to work with the pricing points that I could commit to. "I hired Total Home Roofing and consulted with their Sales Rep Jordan Cronlund. My roof was looking very neglected and I knew it was going to be time to get some items repaired. I held off for a few month but once I spoke with Jordan he educated me on the options I could entertain. I decided to sign and try to see if my insurance would cover the cost of a new roof replacement. It was a long shot but, Total Home Roofing couldn't have made it any easier. They provided genuine reassurance throughout the process and, ultimately, for the cost of my deductible I was able to get a new roof. I can't imagine the work completed on the back-end but as a customer, it felt easy and convenient. Thank you to the company, all the individuals in the back-end and Jordan for helping me out. Since then, I've have been referring THR and Jordan to all inquiring about any roofing job."

"Contractor (David Keefe) is a local roofer. David was very responsive. His price was within the estimates of other contractors. David Keefe Roofing had replaced the roof on other area homes, and they too, were happy with this contractor. I found that the quality of work exceeded my expectations. My wife was happy that they did a thorough job of cleaning up afterward. David's warranty on workmanship exceeds some of the other contractors."

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

It’s typically more cost-effective to move a building along with its accessories than to demolish and rebuild it from scratch. However, that’s only if you can move the accessories without damaging them. However, if you plan to demolish the accessories anyway, it is advisable to do so before the move to save costs.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

Modular homes are a type of prefab home. Specifically, manufacturers first build modular homes in sections and then deliver them to the job site. The modules, or sections, are usually at least 70% finished before they arrive on your property.

In comparison, prefab homes arrive in panels or segments, and workers assemble them on-site. Generally speaking, modular homes tend to be more durable, and their consistent construction standards may mean you’ll have an easier time getting conventional home loans.

The primary reason homes have crawl spaces is so the foundation can reach down below the frost line to avoid dangerous soil movement and structural damage when the ground freezes. They’re more popular in colder climates where the ground freezes down to a few feet, and slabs are most popular in warmer areas where there is no frost line. Crawl spaces also provide a space for utility lines to run where they’re at less of a risk of freezing.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.
