"I hired this company for 2 garage cabinets, 2 wall mounts to hang up my bike and brooms to be installed. They showed up on time to measure the walls, scheduled the appointment for the install a week later and showed up on time for that. Overall, I am very pleased with the service and install."

"My 30 year old garage door opener finally gave out. I called Daniel who gave me a quote which I accepted and the job was done the next day. He did the installation quickly and cleaned up the site after. Then he explained how to maintain garage door hardware to keep the opener working well. He also helped me set up the remote operation from my vehicle. I am very pleased with the service."

"We have been very happy with Tina and her technicians for an ongoing 2x/week house clean. When we initially hired for the twice weekly clean, $200/week appeared somewhat expensive for an ongoing clean (large condo, 2 adult occupants). Having had her service for the past 2 months, I cannot imagine how we ever maintained a home without her!
She does a very meticulous job in cleaning the entire home (I have not noticed any dust collecting in corners, no forgotten crevices, etc), and her tech cleans the kitchen (doing dishes, cleaning the stove, cleaning the kitchen counter and floors), as well as doing laundry/ fold. It's such a pleasure to come home on the days that Tina has come by. Everything is so beautifully done.
The service brings their own mops and cleaning supplies-- although I have purchased some hypoallergenic/ environment friendly products which are being used. The staff that she brings with her is also one of the two technicians, so there is no concern over new strangers coming to the home.
One of the most important aspect of a permanent cleaner for your home is integrity, and I am very happy that we found Tina.
p.s. I noted some reviews (with a low rating) that commented on how "Liz" or some other person answered the call -- I believe that this is a mis-post, as Tina's service is personally owned and she returns all the phone calls. Further, it appears from other posts that Tina's phone return may have been slow at times, and this highlights the importance of finding a service that fits you: if you need a urgent, large-scale, once only clean, perhaps contacting a service that is large-scale with multiple staff might be the best. However, if you are looking for someone you know and trust to come to your home, I think going with a personally owned business, such as Tina, will work out well.

Garage Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

On average, a garage door can last between 15 and 30 years. However, this lifespan is influenced by several factors, including the quality and material of the door, local climate conditions, and how frequently it is used and maintained.

Key factors affecting longevity include:

  • Material: Wooden doors can last 20 to 30 years or more, while steel doors typically last 15 to 20 years. More robust options, like triple-layer steel, can last 25 to 30 years with proper care. The number of layers in a door also contributes to its durability, with each additional layer potentially adding five years to its life.

  • Maintenance: Regular inspections, cleaning, and immediate repairs can significantly extend the life of your garage door.

  • Usage and Climate: Doors in harsh climates or those used very frequently may wear out faster.

  • Components: Individual parts have different lifespans. For example, automatic openers may fail sooner than the door itself without regular maintenance, and garage door springs typically need replacement every 7 to 12 years.

While the door panels are designed to last as long as the door, they should be replaced sooner if they become visibly damaged, impact the door's smooth operation, or create a security risk.

There are several reasons garage door cables can come off multiple times. The most common reason is that the springs have too much or too little tension and require adjusting. Other causes include track alignment issues that keep the door from operating correctly or smoothly. A damaged winding drum or obstructions in the cable's way can also cause it to come loose.

Most cabinetry made for a garage will have special coatings and finishes built to withstand extreme heat and cold, moisture, pest damage, rusting, and dry rot. However, many homeowners have put their old kitchen cabinets in the garage, added a couple of fresh coats of paint, and use them for a while without too much wear and tear.

The amount of paint needed to cover a two-car garage floor depends on the surface area and the product's coverage rate. On average, a standard two-car garage floor measures 400 to 500 square feet. Coverage ranges from 100 to 200 square feet per gallon for epoxy paint, depending on the product and application method. After some quick math, you may need 2 to 5 gallons of epoxy paint with two coats to cover a two-car garage floor.

The best method for painting a garage door depends on the door's design and the finish you want to achieve. For the most professional-looking finish, especially on doors with panels or intricate details, a paint sprayer is an excellent choice. It can easily get into hard-to-reach places and provide a smooth, even coat.

If you don't have a sprayer, or if your door is flat, a combination of a roller and a brush is the most effective approach. Use a roller for the large, flat sections to cover the area quickly and efficiently. For the best results, experts recommend a roller with a nap between ⅜ and ¾ inches thick; natural fibers can also help ensure an even coat.

A brush is essential for handling the finer details. Use it to paint grooves, angles, small panels, and the edges of the door where you need more control.

Regardless of the tools you use, it's a good idea to step back after the main application to review your work and use a detail brush to touch up any missed spots.
