"Started ok just had to go back and forth about them pulling a permit. They didn’t want to. Finally permit was pulled took up existing driveway started pouring concrete in the rain as concrete was being poured Joe came to the door to say it was going to be an additional $1000 from original contract when job was measured 3 times. Also said they would rerun 2 downspouts at $100 a piece which we had to dig up and redo ourselves due to the pop up for them were sticking up about 8 inches ground gound level. 9 days after job was finished we already had 2 cracks and several duvets called Joe he came out and looked said we didn’t have to worry about the cracks and I told him about the pop ups weren’t properly done and he said that is not his forte he will be back the following week to fix the divets he claimed were from his foot prints walking on it and would help my husband dig up the spouts when he comes to fix the divers. Never showed or called. On 9/23/25 the driveway was inspected and failed 2 inspections 1- no footing or 2 #5 rebar at end were driveway meets street. 2- pipe not inspected before pouring driveway. The next day Joe sent me a text about 1 inspection failing for the pipe not being inspected and they would have to charge us to redo it. (See attached text messages) I informed Joe and Mike the owner that we were not happy with the work they did the driveway now has 3 cracks and several more duvets and is wavy or rippled and also can see the drops from it being poured on. I was told they would be out and didn’t hear back from them so I reached out again then Mike said he was in Colorado and would contact me Monday still haven’t heard from Mike or Joe. I had another company come out for their professional opinion on it and have his documents as well. Said it was a poor job and looks like it got out from them especially as it gets closer to the street. Fast forward several weeks Paradise concrete wanted to charge me additional several thousand dollars to replace the pipe and put the footers and rebar in and wanted to patch the 5 cracks the driveway now has. I called the county and they came out and replaced the pipe at their cost and 4 of the workers told me my driveway was not done correctly. It was either watered down, old concrete or not compacted underneath that it should not have cracks already and was a pour finish job. I asked Mike and Joe to please replace the sections of the driveway that have the cracks they stated they would get back to me and never did. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PARADISE CONCRETE TPA they obviously are doing all these driveways and not putting in the footers and rebar required to pass inspection"

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

You can buy a home with foundation issues, but understanding the extent of the problem and what solution you need is critical. If you learn that a home you’re trying to buy has a foundation problem, it’s not necessarily a deal breaker, but you should have a professional assess the issue to see how severe it is and know when to walk away from a foundation problem. Foundation issues can necessitate simple and affordable solutions or complex work that costs thousands.

Visible cracks, scaling, flaking, and uneven surfaces indicate a bad concrete job. Additional signs vary depending on the project. You may notice poor drainage or even exposed rebar. Quality issues result from using the wrong concrete, rushing the work, or inexperienced workers completing the job.

Minor slab leaks normally take around three hours to access and fix, provided the leak is in an accessible location. However, a more extensive leak or a leak in a hard-to-reach location can take several days to fix, depending on the resulting damage. You might also want to consider the timeline for the build-back if the leak damages building materials like flooring or cabinets, which can take several weeks, including delivery of the materials.

You'll find a slurry of natural and synthetic polymers, rubbers, epoxies, and resins used to bond old concrete to new concrete. The right bonding agent depends on the method of concrete pouring you choose and whether you're adhering concrete over concrete or concrete over sand and gravel. Some concrete resurfacing mixtures contain bonding chemicals as well.

The best way to determine if ceiling cracks are structural is to hire a ceiling contractor to inspect the cracks and provide a professional opinion. That said, you might be able to make an educated guess based on the size and appearance of the crack. Larger cracks, cracks accompanied by sagging or discoloration, and cracks that travel from the ceiling down the walls are all signs of structural issues.
