"I live in a gated community, the owner gave me a steal of a quote and kept to his word. Paid good money and got even better service. The tree was removed on time and without any hiccups. After the tree was taken down he then removed the mess afterwards I can’t even tell a tree was even there. Would definitely hire again !"

"I was going to shop around and get estimates to have a rather large tree completely removed from my front yard. Sean was the first one to come by to see me. Sean gave me an estimate to have the tree removed, along with two other trees in my backyard that were totally dead and had been for a long time. I was so impressed and satisfied with his estimate that I hired him right then and there. No other estimates were needed. Sean and his crew did a great job."

Small jobs welcome

"I can’t recommend the Junk Star Haulers enough! I hired the company to help clear out a massive amount of construction debris from my three-story home during a complete remodel, and they absolutely delivered. Tim, the owner, was fantastic!! He showed up right on time and got straight to work. When I say there was a lot of stuff, I mean a mountain of debris, and they handled it all quickly, efficiently, and without any issues!!!! What I figured would be an overwhelming process turned into an stress-free experience thanks to his professionalism and hard work. If you’re looking for a reliable, no-nonsense junk removal service, look no further. Tim and his team exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be calling them again for any future needs."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

If your roof was constructed between 1930 and 1970, there’s a possibility that the shingles contain asbestos. If that’s the case, you should hire a professional for repairs and replacement, as they’ll have the necessary equipment to stay safe from such a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If your home was constructed after this period, it’s unlikely that the shingles in place are toxic. In most cases, asbestos shingles are not recyclable, while standard asphalt shingles are recyclable.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?

Exterior paint contains a higher level of VOCs, which can be dangerous if you’re exposed to it for a long period of time. The good news is that paint’s toxicity reduces significantly once fully dried and cured. Do not keep open exterior paint cans in your home, basement, or garage, exposing your household to harmful chemicals over time.

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.
