"I was totally satisfied with the hard work that the two techs Osvaldo Hernandez and Rodrigo Guillen put in over the course of five days repiping my bathroom by tunneling under my bathroom rather then breaking up the foundation, and then connecting it to a whole new sewer line! Both tech were very professional and kept a good attitude even when confronted by unforseen challenges! Additionally Morgan Caldwell who arranged for the above two techs and kept my wife and I aware of what needed to be done and what it would cost was very professional! I would definitely recommend this crew!!!"

"Frank was an excellent plumber! He came out, was very professional, answered all my questions, was extremely helpful. I had a leaky valve. He changed it out for me, and then even gave me valuable knowledge regarding my drinking water/well pump/ and water filtration system. He also showed me where my water shut off valves were. He came out the same day as well! Thank you Frank!"

Sewer Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.

Your home has a few telltale signs of a sewer line problem. If you notice multiple plumbing fixtures (toilet, sink, or shower drains) appear to be clogged, call a plumber ASAP. Also, if water appears in the tub or shower when you flush the toilet, you likely have a sewer line issue. A sulfur (rotten eggs) smell and bubbling or gurgling noises at the drain also warrant a check. And keep your eyes peeled for changes to the yard, such as a new indentation or mysteriously soggy grass.

Homeowners insurance usually doesn’t cover sewer backups because it’s typically an avoidable problem with proper maintenance. The only exception would be if the backup is occurring because of local flooding and only if your city uses a combined drainage system for stormwater and sewage. If that’s the case, your policy should cover any resulting damage.

Yes, rats can come up through drains. They can crawl through basement floor drains, lateral house drains, and roof drains. Installing rat blockers in your drains is the best way to repel rats and prevent them from entering your pipes. These are one-way valves that allow water and waste to flow out but keep rats from getting in.
