"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

In the metal versus shingle roof debate, aluminum roofing has several advantages. However, aluminum roofing costs more than typical asphalt roofing, so up-front cost is a major downside. Generally, magnets do stick to a metal roof, though certain metals may not be magnetic. In that case, you can use self-adhesive hooks designed for outdoor use or plastic clips that hook onto your gutter or the edge of your roof. But if your metal roof is made of steel, aluminum, or copper, you're in luck—those are all magnetic metals.

Zinc roofs can last over 100 years under ideal conditions. While metal roofs last a long time, only copper roofing is comparable to zinc's longevity. Zinc roofing develops a patina over time, turning from dark shades to lighter ones. The material, or at least the patina coating, is somewhat self-healing by filling in small gaps and scratches on its own.  

The lifespan of a roof patch depends on which materials you use and the severity of the damage. Temporary solutions like tarps or plastic sheets last a few weeks to a few months, while roofing tape or caulk may hold up for a year or two. Permanent patches using roofing cement, flashing, or replacement shingles can last several years as long as they're properly maintained.
