"AF Cleaning is the best service we've ever used. They are fast, thorough and do lots of special, extra things that other cleaners forget - such as vacuuming upholstery if needed and mopping all hard surface floors. They are great, well-organized and we would highly recommend them."

"Ronaldo and his wife have been a pleasure to work with the entire time that I have employed them. They clean the house while I am at work, so I honestly cannot speak to their punctuality. However, they are very flexible (within reason) and have accommodated by variable schedule, that might includes months of traveling and no housekeeping. The house is always immaculate when I return, and they even include special touches, such as toilet paper roses, and towels folded as if they were in a hotel. The respond to text messages immediately and are consistently polite and kind. I would recommend them without reservation."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Most experts agree that the best thing with which to clean epoxy floors is a diluted mixture of ammonia and warm water. You can also use mild dish soap diluted with warm water or a degreaser (such as Simple Green or Goof Off) diluted with warm water. Some soap-based cleaners can leave a haze. If you notice this, further dilute the mixture with water or use a different detergent that does not leave a film. You should never use harsh cleaning chemicals, any type of acidic compound (such as vinegar or citrus-based cleansers), or harsh scrubbers like steel wool or hard bristle brushes.

The answer to this question depends on how large the room is and how much experience you have stripping and waxing floors. It will take at least 24 hours to strip the floors, then you must allow time for drying, waxing, waiting for them to cure, and, finally, buffing them. Since you likely will not be working for the full 24 hours, it is safe to say that this is a two- or three-day job.

Baking soda is an excellent choice for a natural dog urine neutralizer. You can sprinkle it on a stain, leave it overnight, and then vacuum it in the morning to help rid your hardwoods of the dog urine smell. Hydrogen peroxide is another odor neutralizer, but be careful not to mix it with other household cleaners.

Maintenance includes regular cleaning with appropriate products, periodic sealing to protect against staining and wear, and addressing minor issues before they escalate.

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.
