"This is the 3rd floor I have had Michael and Steven install, 2 rooms with carpet, 1 large , 12 ft by 42 ft, room with sheet vinyl, and now another large, 13 ft by 32 ft, room with vinyl planks. Our house is 108 years old and this last room required a lot of leveling before he could install the floor. He shows up on time, is very professional and very good at what he does. He takes the time to make sure the job is done correctly and does not cut corners. I highly recommend him for any flooring needs."

"Quality work at a fair price. Finished on time, on budget. When he left, I couldn't even tell he was there. Except for my beautiful carpet. This guy's a real pro."

"It went really well. We like the indoor carpet and pad. It both looks much better and feels better than the carpet replaced. The outdoor carpet on the porch also looks good. Installers were careful, did a good job, made an effort to stretch the carpet, and cleaned up after themselves."

"Everything went so well. Joey showed up on time and ready to work with his crew! My wedding is less than a week away so deep cleaning was the last thing i wanted or had time to do. Joey and his crew came in and handled it all for without complaint. I have a very large dog who sheds a lot and they got rid of all the hair in all the hard to reach places that I never even think about! I had to run some errands while they were working and by the time i got back everything was almost done and the house smelled great! I would highly recommend them!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

Experts advise that replacing carpeting can bring a 50% to 80% return on investment. However, new carpeting doesn’t necessarily add value to your overall home value. Because flooring value heavily depends on taste, it can be tricky to determine whether new carpet will increase your home sale price. Carpeting tends to be a renovation that increases overall comfort and aesthetics for your home, but it’s not a big factor in value.

Carpets in earthy, neutral shades should go with everything. Specifically, colors like beige, cream, and gray pair well with other neutrals and more vibrant colors. If you’re concerned about your carpet clashing with your walls or furniture, stay away from loud colors and complicated patterns, which could distract from the rest of your decor.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.
