"I recently hired New Way pavers to install pavers for my back patio , and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They provided a clear and detailed estimate, answered all my questions, and helped me choose the right materials to match my home’s style. The installation process was smooth, with great attention to detail. The crew ensured a solid base, proper drainage, and precise alignment, resulting in a flawless finish. Not only did they complete the project on time, but they also kept the site clean throughout the process. The final result exceeded my expectations—beautiful, durable, and exactly what I envisioned. "Excellent, was on time and perfect. Brad and his team (sorry, forgot his name) were even able to lift the concrete wall and it was done perfectly. They even caulked around the entire area, cleaned it out etc. Used hydraulic lift to lift it and then put the foundation repair compound. THank you."
The homeowner's driveway had endured years of wear and tear, resulting in discoloration and numerous cracks across the surface. Additionally, the concrete slabs had become uneven due to the soil settling beneath them.
Due to soil settlement and poorly placed control joints, the customer's driveway had significant cracking. You can see that some stains have formed, indicating that the concrete lacks sealant protection.
The homeowner knew that their home's addition had experienced settlement damage when vertical cracks appeared on the exterior walls.
The homeowner became alarmed when they noticed stair-step cracking patterns emerging from the window frame in the exterior wall of the home.
Upon noticing significant cracks developing in the walls, the homeowner became concerned about their foundation's condition.

"Ernane of SL Contsruction was very professional and very prompt with getting us a quote and keeping us informed as the project progressed. Ernane and his crew replaced my old paver driveway that had been heavily damaged by tree roots. They did an excellent job of removing the tree roots and then installing the new pavers. The job was completed on time for the price that he quoted. We are very happy with our experience and would highly recommend SL Construction ."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can paint stone on the exterior of a house. It’s important to properly prep the stone by cleaning off dirt and debris. You’ll want to apply at least two coats of paint to get the most even and complete coverage. Any pinholes or missed spots, however small, can allow moisture to get into the masonry and potentially cause the paint to blister and peel from the stone.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

While painting can certainly change the look of a chimney, you should think twice about giving your brick chimney the old landlord special.

Painting brick is porous, meaning it’s full of tiny holes that can soak up moisture. Those holes also allow it to dry, though. So, when you paint it, you trap any moisture inside, providing an opportunity for mold, mildew, and water damage.

Paint also shows wear faster than naked brick. This means that once you paint a brick surface, you’ll have to keep painting it to maintain a clean look. A paint job is also harder to undo on brick because of its porous nature. Once you paint it, it’s hard to go back without some serious power washing—another added cost.

This is largely dependent on the size and hardness of the rock, but a range of tools might work, including hammers, chisels, rock hammers, sledge hammers, and more. You'll need a jackhammer for the very biggest rock-breaking jobs.

It is possible, albeit a lot slower, to break up a rock using water. You would do this by freezing and thawing the water. You could create some initial holes or cracks in the rock, then pour water into the cracks or holes and allow them to freeze (so it's best to do this in winter or in colder climates). Since water expands when it freezes, this puts pressure on the inside of the rock and causes it to crack. You could continue to pour more water in and let it freeze to continue to break up the rock.
