Instead, the technician upsold her on replacing her entire electrical panel, every outlet in the house, and multiple smoke detectors. While a few receptacles may have needed replacement, that was not the original issue, and she ended up paying over $1,000 for nine outlets and two smoke alarms. They also tried to push a full panel upgrade that was not necessary, quoting nearly $3,000 total. She trusted their word because she is not familiar with electrical work, and they clearly took advantage of that. This felt predatory and dishonest.
