"I was very pleased with the work by Adam and his team! They cut down three trees and trimmed two others for me. Their price was competitive. Their crew arrived on schedule and was very conscientious about cleanup and precision of their work. I would definitely use them again! Roy Brown"

Customers say: True professional

"Mark and his workers were very efficient with the work I wanted done. He trimmed 3 large oak trees for me and removed 3 dead ones and also shaped a Holly for me. He cleaned everything up very well and hauled it all way. He did an excellent job and was very reasonable and I will hire him again. I strongly recommend him."

"We hired Gatorland Services to clear and level a large area for an above-ground pool, and Justin (the owner-operator) did an outstanding job! He was professional, reasonably priced, and completed the work quickly. When he arrived, he even helped me coordinate with a local company to get the correct type of sand delivered. We're extremely happy with his service and would highly recommend his company!"

"I cannot say enough good things about Southern Acres! I wish I could share before/after pictures of the excellent work they did at my house. Like many others after the devastation Helene inflicted, my yard was damaged beyond recognition....Five 40' trees down, limbs, bushes uprooted, etc. Travis, Jake and a small crew worked from early morning to late afternoon (non-stop except for a brief lunch break) to scrape out the debris. They cut back, trimmed, edged, and removed a huge trailer full of yard waste. They then put out new pine straw (rolled, the way I like it) and blew porch, walk and driveway. The transformation was nothing short of incredible. All the while, they were pleasant and professional. The price they quoted was fair, and they more than met my expectations. In fact, I was so satisfied with their work, I had them hired to maintain my employer's various properties. You will not be disappointed if you give them a call. I know I wasn't!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Horticulturist is a broad term for any type of plant and soil expert. An arborist, meanwhile, specializes in all aspects of tree care. You should hire an arborist when you need assistance with tree-related tasks, such as pruning large trees, removing trees, diagnosing a sick tree, or emergency tree services. Horticulturists aren’t qualified to handle those types of tasks.

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. Without pruning, peach tree branches can sprawl nearly as wide as the tree grows tall, so make sure to plan pruning sessions at least once per year in the spring for controlled growth. And if you’re working on a ladder, be sure to follow all safety precautions, especially if you’ll be dealing with falling branches.

Since each tree is different, it’s impossible to say how long a dead tree can remain on your property. While it could be days, months, or even years, it’s highly likely that, at some point, the tree will fall. In the meantime, dying or dead trees can become a haven for pests, so it’s best to have them removed sooner rather than later.

The best time to prune Japanese flowering cherry trees depends on where you live and the type of flowering cherry tree. Some trees benefit from being pruned toward the end of winter or early spring, after the last freeze. Meanwhile, other trees do well after blooming, in late spring or early summer. Avoid pruning your flowering cherry tree in the early winter, as this encourages open wounds that can lead to infections or infestations.

Steer clear of the area and contact your utility company immediately. It will have a website portal and/or a phone number to report downed trees and electrical issues. If the tree appears to be on public land, you may want to call your local government and report the issue there, too.
