"Came out at night to check clog they arrived quickly but wanted to charge over $450 to snake drain line on roof and they don't do septic tanks which would've been great if discussed prior to the coming out for nothing. So it was a waste of time"

"My refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling. I contacted Angi.com and Ivan from Appliance Repair Optimal LLC came that same afternoon and diagnosed the problem. Kyrylo from Optimal came back the next morning with the replacement compressor. Installed it, made sure all was in working order. They were professional, friendly and detail orientated. When they finished, the refrigerator was cooling and the area was clean! Thank you Ivan and Kyrylo!"

"Our well pump started losing pressure which resulted in very low water pressure in our home. Wesley arrived on time. After explaining the problem (which has occurred in the past) Wesley went to work. He cleaned out debris that was blocking a line from the well to the water softener system. The pressure from the well was still low (about 30PSI). He replaced the pressure gauge where the well line connected to the water softener system. To check to see if there might be blockage in the line from well to the water softener system he placed pressure gauge on the overflow from the well. The pressure there was also only about 30PSI, it should be around 60PSI.
Wesley determined we probably needed to replace the well pump. The debris that was blocking the water softener system was probably from the impeller wheels in the pump which were disintegrating. He said he would be glad to replace the pump to first check with the company that installed the well pump to see if it was still under warranty. The pump was still under warranty and the company that installed the well pump replaced it the next day.
I highly recommend Wesley and Bay Area Pump and Well. Wesley is very honest and very knowledgeable about wells and pumps. He gives good advice and is very thorough in checking all possibilities before making a recommendation. He is also very reasonably priced.

On average, a plumber will take 30 minutes to two hours to clear a clogged drain. If the clog is located close to the drain or an access point and isn’t severe, the project will take about half an hour. If the clog is deep within your plumbing system or is a severe blockage, it can take two or more hours to remove the clog. For this reason, main line clogs tend to take longer, usually between two and three hours.
It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.
In most areas, drain cleaning professionals don’t technically need a license, as they aren’t altering your plumbing system in any way. However, we recommend hiring a drain cleaning professional with a plumbing license and certification. Certified plumbers are more likely to provide professional solutions to drain clogs without damaging your system. They’ll also have the diagnostic tools and experience necessary to remove the clog entirely rather than providing a temporary solution, as a handyperson might. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your plumber’s professional licenses before hiring.
Applying drain cleaner is a common DIY solution to clogged drains, but it can be extremely harmful to your pipes and lead to corrosion and leaks. It is almost always better to try snaking a clog than using a drain cleaner, but the best solution is to hire a professional plumber. They can locate the clog and gauge the severity using a camera system and then decide if using a plumber’s snake, auger, or drain cleaner is the best option to remove the clog and limit damage to your plumbing system.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
