Small jobs welcome

"Chris did an absolutely phenomenal job bushhogging and clearing my backyard! The area was completely overgrown, but he made quick work of it, leaving the yard looking clean, open, and completely transformed. Not only was his work top-notch, but his price was by far the best around. I called a few places, and Chris’s rates were the most reasonable and you definitely get more than what you pay for with the quality of his work. He showed up on time, was super professional, and made sure to clean up everything before finishing. I can’t recommend him enough. I’ll definitely be calling Chris again for any future yard projects!"

"Very professional company. Could not believe they were able to get someone to help for a non-emergency in just one day. Charles arrived and assessed the situation and worked with us to decide priorities. I'm sure this was a small job in the overall scheme of things, but everything was done professionally and quickly, and Charles cleaned up afterwards. Good company!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Most residential basements are 8 to 10 feet deep. You can dig deeper depending on building codes, but it does become more difficult. You’ll likely need to install stronger foundation walls and additional supports to handle the increased load. Depending on the water table, you may also need a water management system. Clay soil can support a deeper foundation than sandy soil. A structural engineer will be able to tell you the maximum, feasible depth.

There is no standard depth for burying a septic tank; they are typically buried anywhere from 4 inches to 4 feet underground. The final depth depends on several factors, including the depth of your main sewer line, the height of the bedrock, soil type, local regulations, and the property's landscape. If you plan to grow grass or plants over the tank, a depth of at least 4 to 6 inches is recommended. Deeper tanks can be more difficult to locate, but a septic professional can help find it for you.

Chipmunks dig their burrows about three feet deep and up to 30 feet long. The entrances can be two inches wide or more. Chipmunks are fiercely protective of their burrows and use them to protect the nuts and seeds they gather for the long winters.

Underground downspouts refer to the sections of downspout extensions that lead away from your home and gutter system. While they cost more than traditional extensions, they can provide several benefits, such as less frequent damage and no need to move them for lawn care tasks. Whether they're worth it or not depends on your budget at installation time and how much convenience they'll add to your situation.

While you can save some money by digging your own pool, you may end up paying more in construction equipment rental fees in the long run. You could, however, focus your DIY energies on lowering the cost of leveling your lawn for your pool or filling in surrounding landscaping after construction.
